parker would be far more fearsome were he to exist on a diet of good American brisket and a reasonably good bourbon

Absolute nonsense. The 90s is seen as a great era of heavyweight boxing and had Bentt, Hide, Morrison and a whole load of other also rans hold titles.

Agreed. Given Whyte’s current situation, effectively being completely out of the loop, I hope he takes Parker’s offer from a few months back, and they have a second fight.

I’d have Parker 3-0 up against Fury and 2-0 up against Ortiz. Wow, that was easy. But serious, Parker takes 4th because of what he’s done, not what you think he may have done. And Ortiz? Really? How some love to prop that man up.

And as for Wilder being a spent force, it has coincidentally happened when he’s legitimately stepped up his competition. Wilder’s best win is against a contender that achieved very little in the sport. Honestly, if Wilder didn’t hold the WBC belt for a while, I don’t think we’re even debating this.

Nope. Prime Wilder was a media myth. He blew threw cabbies and became basic in his first real fight, barely getting past 38yr old Ortiz in their initial match. Then he was gifted a draw w Fury before being brutally stopped twice. Then he was completely useless against Parker and Zhang when he was 38yr olds...so a fan has to do some mental cartwheels to make Wilder a Top 5 HW even in this era.

No Neck is a hardcore Wilder apologist so obviously we have to pretend that Ortiz was something he wasn't otherwise Wilder's paper thin resume looks even worse. Must be hard times for him now seeing him having been utterly exposed.

For Wilder, while he may be completely washed up, I just don’t buy it. Not fully. Like many, I’ve always questioned his resume, and always questioned is absolute lack of boxing ability. So the moment he steps up I always expected it. Ortiz didn’t have Parker’s gas tank, or youth, or I’m sure he’d have outlasted Wilder also.

But yeah, you’d think Ortiz had achieved so much, given how he’s propped up at times.

You sound like your feelings got seriously hurt by Wilder being one of the three men playing musical chairs at the top of the division until a couple of years ago. But on brighter note, time heals all wounds.

Not remotely. I feel vindicated for my long term views on Wilder, and now I’m trying to provide therapy for people like you, who are still struggling.

Nah. He struggled with Junior Fa who got KO’d by Lucas Browne. Fa got stopped by Sanchez who got stopped by Kabayel. Parker is only now reaching his ceiling, but he beat a past it Wilder on the way there. Struggled to a SD against Chisora and got KO’d by Joyce who is a literal punching bag.

    2. Joshua
    3. Fury
    4. Wilder

The rest is a complete toss up

I have a feeling if Fury was to fight the next guys in line he'd probably lose a few like Wilder and he'd drop down everyones list, he's been well managed.

So by your logic Parker is still better than Wilder. I agree.

If Parker had had a fair run at it he may well have beaten Whyte. A rematch would have been good but I doubt Whyte would have liked rolling the dice again straight after that.
