Good morning Fergy. Good question. Chris was an excellent counter-puncher who was blessed with durability and a solid set of whiskers. Not a spectacular fighter but when under the cosh he'd show his true ability and toughness. He may well have beaten a couple more big names had he fought them in his prime - Iran Barkley is one who comes to mind.
HI stevie. Yes I'd like to have seen him against Barkley too, could have been a tough old scrap. Those sort of fighters I think are ideal for Eubank. Toney and Jones Jr a little too much I think but I really think Eubank would have tried his best there.
Well, he certainly should have been inducted into HOF by now. A great fighter who was scarcely in a boring fight. I think he'd probably beat Tiger Flowers.
Odd sort, as much showman as fighter, often did just enough to get by mediocre opposition. I’m kind of a fan because I like awkward guys and he was surely that, but his reputation is greatly enhanced by staying an ocean away from Roy Jones Jr across three divisions.
Incredible fighter, who seemed to be good at everything, and not weak at anything that was obvious. I kind of think that he played his hand well, in an era of very strong fighters.
I think Eubank was far smarter them most realize. He was not the first but he figured out he needed a Schtick to land larger purses and he was successful in doing that. Granite chin good power and a lot of heart carried him to a world title. He also had very good lateral movement when he employed it and he was always in top shape as well. His fights with Watson and Benn are legendary as they should be. I really do not think any other middleweight from England accomplished what Eubank did and for how long he did it for.
