Ruiz's power would look ungodly against the opposition that Galento faced.

Ruiz' speed, accuracy and combination punching would look ungodly :deal:

Man I appreciate tough guys like him. They make boxing interesting. I love watching Babic fight for instance.

But when it comes down to the sweet science and things like balance, a jab, footwork, correct punching mechanics and a bunch of other things - let's be honest, 2 Ton is at the back of the line.

If he was an obese middleweight, he had Julian Jackson type power given how he was a fairly hard hitter at HW.

Did Tua ever deliver 2 tons of ice? Did Tua ever give cocky comedians a nice smack? I don't think so!

If the premise of the question is, could Galento ko AJ if he connects with his left hook the answer is absolutely yes. Odds of it happening aren't good but they're not zero either.

What sized HWs did he actually KO? OP is saying he'd make easy work of AJ. Some of the HWs from the 30s and 40s were near the size of today's MWs pre-weight cut.

The thing with heavyweights is that any heavyweight has a chance against anyone if they are able to land that hard punch.

In theory he could, but I think we would have to make Joshua the overwhelming favorite.

The second Ruiz AJ fight was arguably more of a sideshow than Fury Ngannou

To think Ruiz could have gone with Teddy Atlas and potentially wiped the division

Worse waste of potential than Bowe?

I think Galento could give AJ some trouble

Ruiz is a "strong" 5'11 according to most comments at celebheights which means a more than 5'11 less than 6'0 range. Mike Tyson is a "strong" 5'10 at celebheights for comparison. I think those are the most reliable listings. But it wouldn't be the first time AJ got knocked out by a fat little midget. He has something of a history of this.

    Mihai Nistor is only 5'11.

Theres also a strong rumor that Joey Dawejko "concussed" AJ in sparring. Joey Dawejko is listed as 5'10 and could be realistically 5'9 just like Galento. Heres a video to get a sense of the size difference in question.

Galento weighed as much as 230 to 240, so similar fighting weights to Dawejko also. Theres a very strong pile of evidence we have here that Galento could at least "clip" Joshua wouldn't you agree with that?
