Some fighters can be pretty classless in the ring during or after the fight is over. Whether it be taunting, humiliating, spitting, shoving an opponent, intentionally fighting dirty, punching after the bell, or going at it with other people from the opponents team. Even ATGs will show some deplorable behavior every once in awhile. What are some examples of boxers that displayed behavior that you did not agree with while in the ring?

Number one all time in this category is obviously James Butler who took it to a new level.

Who could forget that despicable behavior? The guy ended up killing Max Kellerman's brother as well.

Steven Butler shoved a ref after getting stopped last week... made worse that this was after committing, and getting away with tons of fouls throughout the fight.

Tyson biting not one, but TWO opponents has to be a close second.

Al "Bummy" Davis had an epic meltdown vs. Fritzie Zivic in which he pelted him with a barrage of low blows & then kicked the ref when he tried to intervene.

    And then there's this:

Corbett punched Fitzsimmons after their fight, and Fitz would mock him when they showed the fight across the country. When that part of the film propped up, he would sarcastically laud about how much of a gentleman Corbett was. Lol

@ 0:50 you can see Ismael Laguna viciously pounding Soriano to the point that he refused to stop even when the referee was trying to separate the two but Laguna just pushes the ref away to continue attacking his helpless opponent. Still don't know why Laguna showed such nasty behavior like that.

Greg Page showed a complete lack of class mugging and clowning against a hopelessly overmatched Scott LeDoux.

It’s one thing to have the balls to do a shuffle when Joe Frazier is in front of you trying to take your head off, but to completely show up and humiliate a guy who can’t do anything about it but is trying really hard to … what an ass.

Muhammad Ali behaved atrociously in many of his fights. Worse yet, he started the trend of trash talking that has infected all of sports.

Judah/Mayweather brawl was weird. Riddick Bowe's team nearly killing the fan man was not cool. Can't say either of those were the fighters' faults though. Tyson beating the dog**** out of Lou Savarese after the fight was over was lame. Tony Galento low blows and glove thumbing to Lou Nova's eye. Ali's supposed eye gouging of Ernie Terrell. I think the worst of boxing is generally done in the boardroom: the matchmaking and the judging.

I'll offer some that come to mind from other combat sports as well:

Badr Hari stomping Remy Bonjasky in the $500,000 final of the 2008 K1 Kickboxing tournament. Had to fight 3 fights in one night and this was the third for both of them. Hari had ran through all the best competition that year, stopping them for the most part. When Bonjasky refused to firefight with him and was instead fighting scientifically, Hari threw him down and stomped him a bit. When asked about his foul, Hari replied "well, riding a bicycle on the sidewalk is illegal as well."

Here is Hari being a tool, trying to kiss, then sucker punch his opponent before their fight and getting KOed as well.

Here's a weird one where a fighter kissed his opponent before the fight and got knocked out during the reading of the rules before the bell. The moment went so viral (before viral was a thing) that the fighter changed his nickname to "Kiss" and got booked a fair bit afterwards on big shows.

Flo, I've often heard about this fight but never knew a film of it existed. Thanks for posting. Incidentally, what should have been an immediate DQ resulted in a slap on the wrist. That's what happens when you're a hero in Panama. This was the 'penalty':

    • The Panamanian Boxing Commission fined Laguna $200 (which was raised to $250 when Laguna protested their decision) for inappropriate behavior and "aggressive action" during the bout. With Soriano helpless on the ropes in the 8th round, while the referee was trying to stop the fight, Laguna twice pushed the referee out of the way to get in more punches. The Mexican Boxing Commission announced no Panamanian boxers would be permitted to box on Mexican soil and no Mexican boxers would be allowed to box in Panama until Laguna apologized for his "disgracefully unsportsmanlike conduct".
