Just over three weeks ago, all the major belts in the heavyweight division were unified for the first time in 25 years. In his two previous fights, Usyk had successfully defended his WBO, WBA and IBF belts against Anthony Joshua and Daniel Dubois. Now the general feeling among boxing pundits seems to be that it's only right and proper that Usyk be stripped of the IBF belt so that ANTHONY JOSHUA AND DANIEL DUBOIS can fight for the vacant title. It's ridiculous. It's insane.
Would be incredible...then he can take another 122lb fight if he wants before maturing into 126. Tank is too much of a coward to fight Inoue. Shame he wont go down to 130 for him...Inoue would stop him
I agree with this and it’s not negative, they are good to watch you don’t need to be an ATG to put on a good fight and not all the best fights are from the elite
Is the IBF ever going to make a decision on this? They could do the right thing and grant the exemption, or they could strip Usyk and make their title a clear secondary title like the IBO.
The right decision is keeping the interim belt interim until Usyk retires then letting the holder of the belt replace him then if Usyk doesn't fight them. Hearn is extremley biased in this situation and wants Usyk stripped because it makes it substantially easier for him to get AJ a non interim belt or even a non interim title shot. That is not in the publics interests thats not in the IBFs interest thats in his interests. Hes barely hiding that fact. The IBF isn't becoming a secondary title just because the WBA and WBC are even worse at least in this particular era.
WBA should be thrown onto the trash heap of history and burned. MAHMOUD FREAKING CHARR currently has a "world title" because of them. Cassius Chaney was ranked #7 in the world just last month. Jonathon Guidry is in the top 15 and HE lost to Trevor Bryan!
No worries. We have a Saudi Prince Bank rolling this. It's a beautiful thing to behold. If the event flops, so what! Slow production of oil a day or 2 and make your money back my Prince. LOL
