I think Gvozdyk cherrypick will backfire

He can't win a belt where Bivol and Beterbiev competes. And he's 37. He's here for his retirement paycheck.

If Gvodzyk hasn't lost anything he beats Benavidez, no question. I'm not sold that he hasn't. That's really the main appeal of this fight. What does he have left.

His dimensions are as such that David wouldn't be able to bully him around the ring, he's not really the bigger guy here and Gvodzyk is a far better boxer puncher. David's main gameplan would be a disaster against pre-Beterbiev Gvodzyk but again.....................Ion think this is that.

 

if david can handle the power as well as the average lhw, he will beat gvodzyk now, and would have beat him at any stage. he is a better fighter. i have never seen a gvodzyk that i thought was more skilled than benavidez. although, i've only seen a couple of his fights.
and i was comparing a gvodzyk in his prime vs a benavidez still developing. today its a past prime gvodzyk vs a prime benavidez. it dont look good at all for gvodzyk from where im standing.

 

It’s his step up fight every fighter gets the test, I’m curious to see if he the Mexican monster will get credit For beating up a Old near legend.

 

All i know is David better stay switched on the whole fight. This is a step-up fight and is no way a sure thing. I think this is a great fight for him. He will learn from this fight. Gvodzyk should take him up through the gears and make him work.

 

Serious step up for DB, and if he can win and in convincing fashion I think he'll get the Canelo fight next.

 

I'm actually not interested in Tank fight at all but the Benavidez fight should be good !

 

Also, over time in a career that whole face eating defense fails. Hell, Gavril - of all fighters - showed Benavidez is very hurtable. If Gvodzyk remotely close to 2019 version that fought Beterbiev shows up its an easy win and exposure for David Benny.

But Gvodzyk aint fought someone w a pulse since 2019. This is no different than Wilder's attempt to cherrypick Fury who Haymon and Floyd wrongly assessed. Another PBC attempt to build their fighter on the corpse of other formerly revered fighters. Pullin for the Ukrainian here

 

This resembles a cash out fight for Gvodzyk,,,we'll see.
