You don’t even have any footage of Tire Iron Jones - are you willing to believe a bunch of newspaper reports?
It's not a bad list. I would think Usyk replaces Fury at this point. I am going to refrain from answering because I ultimately don't think it is answerable. Eras are not comparable, and a fighter can only be judged on what they accomplish in their own era. Also, as I have pointed out with Holmes an Liston before, how can anyone assign such hid h2h rating given the relatively light competition they beat? But I think is a pretty good list.
I was very reticent to add Bowe but for a hot minute he was really good against a certain type of opponent. If Usyk were retired, I would put him there.
Every person on that list Louis could leave static not one of them improved on him as a boxer. Not far till a hundred years and only regression.
Sometimes I like to think that way, but it simply isn't true. He wouldn't be intimidating to the modern boxer. He was predictable, had holes and didn't carry physical advantages. He threw beautiful, poetry-in-motion combos. But it's not a style contest. A lot of modern boxers would have him following and eating punches as he tried to reset.
it's gotta be the killers generally speaking, though they can be outboxed & outhustled even, by extremely Fit, Strong and Great Boxers. my first thoughts would be the Tysons & Qawis and Haglers, the Durans GGGs and going back further, the Marcianos, the Cerdans, and the Dempseys and the Langfords and the Sullivans and all such type fighters... it's a good discussion though. the Top Killers over history, verses the Top Boxers over history in each of their respective weight division.
