Who to you hope wins?

I think Usyk is by far the better man to represent the sport of boxing, so I'm hoping he wins again.

Usyk is a true ring warrior and a honorable man, while Tyson Fury is a oversized dolt and a man of weak character.

No way was there any way you could justify a Fury card in that fight, and even the Usyk cards weren't wide enough.

Rooted and bet on Usyk to win the first, even though I thought Fury was likely to win due to "home advantage". Want Fury to win it this time around though, because I'd like to see a trilogy between the clear #1 and #2 of the division.

No hate required... It's very unlikely to happen, but there's worse things to wish for.

Given how close the first fight wasn't - and how the narratives have changed and popularity may have shifted.

Do you think Fury will get the A-side privilege the second time around that he clearly did the first time?
And do you think he can win without it?

 

I love Usyk, but I’d like to see Fury redeem himself. It would also probably do Usyks legacy better if Fury won…

To listen to many on this forum, Tyson Fury sucks and is all smoke and mirrors which doesn’t bode well for Usyks resume…(even though Usyk just went life and death with him for much of their fight….)

Personally no. I think the scores were very fair except the rouge Fury card, but that's normal in most fights as the scoring criteria differs between referees. I think Turki prefers a level playing field and the excitement that brings.

The fight to me was closer than a lot on here saw it, the knockdown and broken nose was a pivotal moment for Usyk, with Fury not able to maintain the same pace afterwards. If Fury works on keeping distance, punishing Usyk when he tried to close the gap the next fight will be much closer.

 

Hmm, to each their own - to me, Usyk won quite clearly (and stats bear that out)... To my mind Fury got an easy ride on the cards.

In any case, he was lucky not to get waved off.

I don't think the rematch will be as competitive either, personally.

 

I was rooting for Usyk in the first fight, and I bet on either fighter to win by SD. I had the fight close on the cards in my mind, although I was half in the bag and at the casino, so I wasn't exactly writing it down. Obviously, those scores come with a massive grain of salt. I was scared for Usyk in the middle rounds when Fury started to dominate, I thought Fury was on his way to chopping him down for a TKO.

I'm kinda torn on the rematch for selfish reasons. I love Usyk, and he represents everything that is right in boxing. I wouldn't mind seeing Fury win the rematch however, as I want to see a legacy trilogy that captivates the world. Prior to the first fight nobody in the USA who wasn't hardcore knew who Usyk was, they do now. My dream would be for Fury to win the rematch, then have the trilogy fight in Vegas or London. I'd go to either.

 

I am predicting the second fight doesn’t happen.

 

Fury because he's the underdog, and it would result in Fury-Joshua (the last super fight of this era that hasn't taken place yet) happening faster with more belts on the line.

Whereas whether Usyk wins or loses the rematch, it has no real impact on the future, he's going to retire soon anyway, he's beat AJ twice already and there's no one really left for him to face.

I don't mind if Usyk wins again though, they're both family men and Christians who praise God, you don't get a lot of men like that anymore these days.

 

It makes no difference at all. Joshua and Fury were the co-heirs to WladKlit's legacy. Usyk beat them both. If history looks back on Fury harshly, then that is all the more gain for Joshua.

Usyk has proven himself to the best heavy since at least 2015, and likely since 2003.

It's not really a fight I feel is necessary to be honest - I felt he won fairly clearly last time. But he seems to often have to prove himself twice (as if he hasn't done enough already!!)
I like to think of myself as a reasonably objective boxing fan. And I was on-board with the Fury story after his comeback draw and win vs Wilder.
But I soon got frustrated by his constant gaslighting and wilfully poor opposition - all the while telling us he was the greatest heavyweight ever. This is a fighter who was happy to revel in the phony status of an ATG (shame on those media outlets and pundits who forgot their boxing history and were claiming this to be true) but consistently refused to take on meaningful opposition to prove it. Fury showed occasional promise earlier in his career but, since 2020, was a stain on the sport. *To be clear, I think Fury has a lot of talent. But he enjoyed being called the best without showing the desire to actually prove it in the ring. His reign ended up being the antithesis of what a champion should be.*
I predicted Usyk would win on points the first time. I think he wins via stoppage in the rematch.
