If Fitz landed a clean, hard punch on AJ, Fury, Tyson, Usyk, can he put them out?

Regardless of how you view the matchup, if Fitzsimmons got the perfect opportunity and landed a blow right on the chin, behind the ear, or to the body with all of his power, could he put these men out? Does he have that level of power?

Sure, if they replace the punch machine at the bar with one of their heads Fitz could KO anyone. In a fight? I don't think one flush shot off Fitz would do the trick.

 

Yeah if Fitz landed the shot like he did on Corbett, he could in theory put them down for the count, the main question is landed such a shot again. I do believe that Marciano's knockout of Walcott in the first fight would of koed and even down most men, but could he repeat it vs Fury?

 

Fitz is on the record KO'ing a 300 pounder who outweighed him by 140 pounds. It was a nobody making their debut who never fought again but in terms of whether his power is physically capable of doing it the answer is yes.

Hot take: Human heads aren't really built to take flush punches from any adult, on the point of the chin, even a fairly small adult puncher. If you let a 120-pound woman throw everything she has into your chin and you can't block, duck, sidestep, move in any way, and you're an enormous man? She might still put you unconscious. It's not likely, but she very well might. So, an average sized adult known for his power and cunning, might he land that flush on any of these behemoths and flip the light switch? Sure. Is it going to happen? ...An okay level of maybe?

I feel so stupid for saying it and I fear being mocked like you're doing. And, granted, listen, some of my opinion is based on having been knocked out cold by a 120-pound woman. I had just woken up and was sitting up in bed and was completely unaware that it was about to happen. I guess I had fallen asleep in the wrong room the night before. So, we were both surprised, in a manner of speaking.

 

Fitz could land a flush punch to Foreman's head and so much force would be applied that his head would twist permanently around. George would look like an abused action figure looking at his own ass. That's how much power Fitz had.

Of course, this reasoning wouldn't apply to FORTEman.

With these huge gloves of today though, I am impressed that fighters still get knockouts.

 

The gloves that they wore when Fitzsimmons was around were anything from 2oz to 5oz. In those gloves I would give Fitzimmons the advantage over them, the same way I would give a man with a knife the advantage over him, and a man with a gun the advantage over him, and so on.
