Marciano fans have taught me that anyone that won’t quit and isn’t scared of Tyson will beat him, therefore I am inclined to pick Rocky to beat him. Joe Grim wouldn’t have too much trouble with Tyson either.
Tyson is a fall-apart artist who couldn't hang with a real banger like Rocky. Rocky would have the power and chin advantages. Tyson never had the ability to persevere through a barrage like the one Rocky would put on him. This would be like Holyfield, but worse. Rocky had more KOs than Holyfield, he was clearly stronger and better equipped for Tyson. Rocky never lost, Tyson lost to Kevin McBride and Danny Williams and needed a fluke to bail him out against Franz Botha. Marciano won the real title while those guys who pushed Tyson never even came close. Rocky would be pumping slick double jabs like Buster Douglas before he finally wrenched down with the 13th round Suzie Q and sent Tyson into the stands. Not even close.
Yeah Tyson is in trouble here. Classic has taught me that size doesn't count and resume, even taken out of context, does. Mike is getting knocked out I guess.
Tyson was quicker, stronger and bigger than Marciano. They also had similar chins. Sure, Mike was weaker psychologically than Rocky, but looking at the fact Tyson could go blow for blow against Ruddock on two occassions without quitting, I'm sure physical advantages would give him a victory in this case.
Tyson at his best, in a fight where he has every single physical advantage? Where he's not even shorter? If he has a problem, it's because he's not used to fighting a guy his own height.
Another vote for Tyson. He holds all physical advantages and a better all round boxer than Rocky. Faster too.
