    They tune up in sparring.

Like you said, it's prize fighting, it makes no sense for you, me and the boxers to see them in tune up fights where the result is predetermined.

No need for tune up fights.

Sparring is not the real thing. And I hate having to wait 8 months to see a boxer I like, I guess we are just different.

Exactly, so the real thing should be competitive fights, not tune ups.

That is just wishful thinking. Unfortunately, sometimes boxers end up taking a lot of time off.
I for one am fine with tuneups, especially when it means guys staying active. And it´s good for the boxers to stay active.

It's good for boxers to stay active, but there's no need for tuneups, where you're giving a guy a free payday because the result is predetermined.

    No value in that.

Value in me and the boxer. Dude, you must be skipping A LOT of fights with your "predetermined" mentality.

And you should take a look at the career of Kiko Martinez before saying there is no value in tuneups.

You don't want a tune up to see Prograis upset, you want a tuneup to see Prograis win.

You want Prograis to fight someone below the level of Carterall.

I do skip an awful lot of fights, boxing annoys me no end.

Good to see Catterall is keeping busy after a couple of years of hardly fighting.

No, I want Prograis to stay active and at his best. I don´t want him to sit on his ass for 6 months before a fight is signed.

So you're not actually criticising the selectionsl of Carterall, more the time it takes him to fight?

In that case I cede my point.
