Gervonta Davis has picked the round in his last few fights now, or at least called it as somewhere between rounds 6-8.. And then made it happen.

Made me wonder if you guys can think of anyone doing similar either past or present?

Isn't the scene of a braggadocious fighter picking the round they will stop their opponent basically the Hollywood stereotype for a reason?

Or do you mean specifically a fighter who is actually picking it and then it happening as planned again and again?

Can't say I've ever paid much attention to this but it's an interesting question

I understand that Muhammad Ali, in his first career, did that more than once.

Was watching David benevidez last night fighting (? First name) Ellis during the covid era. The monster predicted a 6 round stoppage. Heck he put the hurt on Ellis like he stole his bike. Needless to say he didn't get the stoppage, BUT it came in round 11 albeit not predicted.

I think Canelo predicted he'd have Suanders out in 8 or 9. That's the most recent i can remember anyway

Hearns predicted he would get Duran out of there in 2 rounds and he did. Then he predicted he would get Hagler out in 3, then it backfired. You got to love Hearns courageousness!

He certainly did Even the Clay-Henry Cooper1 where Ali said Cooper falls in 5 . Looked kinda bad when Enery's 'Ammer landed & down went Clay right at the end of the 4th but brilliant corner work by Angelo Dundee got him up & running again to fulfill his prophecy. He wasn't clowning no more lol

Holyfield made a prediction in the first Lewis fight. Not sure, but I think it was the third. Regardless, nothing happened.

Typical BS from you LOL I talked to Angelo Dundee about it & he swore that the seam on Ali's glove was splitting & dangerous . He poked his finger in it making it worse & called the ref. They didn't have a replacement glove they had to carry on with round 5 as it was. As for him using Smelling salts he agreed he did as it was LEGAL in the US & he had no idea it wasn't legal in UK. Henry never complained about it those cuts around his eye were horrific
they had to stop the fight. You were just a twinkle in your future mothers eye when that happened anway LOL

Floyd > Ali. Never had to stall to recover after getting brutally knocked down by a British bum.

You really are a damned idiot aren't ya . Coopers left hook, Enery's A'mmer was a KO blow
Even Ali apologized to Henry for calling him a bum. YOU just copied someone else as usual
Ali never had to rely on corrupt officiating, Floyd did. Ali never proved positive on any test,
Floyd did. Remember Floyd Sr saying " I'm not going to let little Floyd fight Pacquaio, his health is more important than money" !!! Can you imagine Ali's Dad saying that about Ali fighting Sonny Liston ???. Floyd aint fit to carry Ali's jockstrap LOL a la Larry Holmes LOL
