What stops Fury from going down in weight to the Wlad fight level?

What stops him is that he doesn't eat and train properly.
There's a bunch of propaganda about needing to be heavier and not needing to be a bodybuilder and being overtrained etc.

Just excuses so he can be indulgent. Look at his family, fat dad, fat uncle, massively fat brother, fat other brother. He even said himself his whole family is fat. It's just a version of the female BBW garbage.

As people rightly say, there is zero advantage to having high body fat. He would be better being as lean as a Klitschko or Price.

Problem is the history of Fury is a history of fat camps, and he admitted himself earlier on that he always got fat and needed to stop because it meant every camp was a weightloss camp. We don't hear that anymore.

He was that lean for Wlad because he was scared of losing and also had a massive fat camp.

The 'draining' thing only happens because he's always crash dieting in these fat camps.

He's older now so harder to keep weight down and do the fat camps and has less motivation to, so likely won't get back. The excess roll around his waist is partly the skin leftover from his massive obesity and needs surgical removal.

Davison was right trying to keep his weight down. But Fury couldn't handle that kind of discipline in the end and got an idiot trainer who lets him be fat and tells him he's a KO artist.

Absolutely terrible idea. He looked weak enough as it was coming in at the weight he did.

I was amazed at the stupid tactics Joshua employed against Uysk. No-ones beating him in a chess match. The Chisora fight showed that he didn't like a heavy guy roughhousing him and that weirdly remains the blueprint but these dummies keep fighting his fight and then being surprised when he beats them.

Sure, they're opening themselves up to a KO loss but at least it's not a guaranteed L like the they've been taking trying to win an amateur style fight against him.

He should gain 5lbs of muscle and lose 15lbs of fat.

250lbs or there abouts. That's all he needs to be.

Spot on. It's where Fury had more success in the first fight by laying it on him, the problem is conditioning tbh. It's hard to keep that rate up long so he'd have to go for broke early.

That's not only a 16 pound, or about 7 kg difference, but an 8.5 year difference.
Which means that if Fury does come to the rematch with Usyk weighing 247 pounds (boxrec) - it won't be the same mobility as in the fight against Wlad.
I really don't know what Fury's "recipe for Usyk" is supposed to be, but I'm sure that if Usyk comes into the rematch heavier at all, he won't be more than two to three pounds heavier.

I figure the strategy would involve using his size advantage more and rough housing. Sugar Hill is a good trainer and needs to keep John out of the damn corner.

The OG blueprint for beating Uysk was in the Loma-Salido fight. You're not outpointing these guys in pit-a-pat exchanges.

    How many fighters do this?

The one that springs to mind is Haye vs Wlad. How much do you want this fight? You need to go balls out and try to overwhelm him with speed and power otherwise.... you get ground down to a boring UD loss. Toe excuses aside, Haye bottled it for fear of being highlight reel KO'd and for the life of me I don't get why.

Personally I'd rather be stretchered out in 3 but know I tried to take my chance than limp to an inevitable loss that disappoints everybody. No guts, no glory.

Well totally legit knockdown/out aside - I don't blame Uysk for playing a naive/favourable ref there but that was ridiculous - a green DDD shouldn't have had a better strategy than Joshua and Fury who both played into Uysk's hands and made it easy for him.

Edit* Salido was low blowing and DDD threw a totally legit body punch Uysk didn't like and milked a sympathetic ref for all it's worth with.

It really depends on what type of fat you have, like there is brown fat and beige fat, but with boxing, the important distinction is the importance and potency of imaginary fat, which, in the heavyweight division, actually makes you strong like muscle does, and even faster and better smelling and more attractive to females.

My 2 x- wives and numerous past girl friends will attest that my fat makes me weak, slow, and stinky.
