Might be so that AJ isn't his mandatory next year. That he thinks it's better to sort that situation now, because who really needs a third fight at this point? Or that he plans to relinquish all his titles anyway so no need to cling on to the IBF belt until then. And maybe also to mess with Fury. Taking away any chance he has this year to become undisputed. But unfortunately this move looks like he's planning to go down to CW.
Having a streaking Joshua as mandatory challenger would have people calling for a third fight which at that point he might not be up for retreading.
If Joshua is riding high, Usyk can demand massive money for the undisputed fight. IMO, the right move for Usyk.
Cacace the Apache vs Josh Warrington is a good substitute for the Inoue match. TBH....too many Josh boxers. Could use a Nigel in there, or an Ian.
Cacace - Warrington, L Smith - Kelly, Buatsi - Hutchinson are three cracking fights on the undercard. Very nice fights.
