    I totally agree.

They are, but they're not quite the same.

I'm not defending weight bullying, I want it out of the sport.

But rehydration clauses are essentially forcing guys to fight dehydrated, something that was already taken out of the sport once for being too dangerous.

Weight bullies rightly get judged for what they do.
For some reason plenty want to give Tank a free pass for his rehydration clauses - he doesn't deserve it.

It's 10 pounds, dehydrated after rehydrating 10 pounds is saying a lot about how much one drains down to a lower weight class, which is essentially weight bullying. Both issues are 2 sides of the same coin for me

And a reminder to everyone that Pacquiao, Cotto, Mayweather and Canelo all got torn to shreds when they implemented a rehydration clause.
Meanwhile Tank gets a pass every time. I can´t really anyone criticizing him for the clauses.

Is a guy 10lbs overweight likely to be the difference between knocking a guy out and putting him in a coma?
Realistically no - unfair advantage yes, super dangerous no.

Is a guy 10lbs underweight due to rehydration clause likely to be the difference between losing by KO and serious medical problems?
    It's much, much more likely.

For me that's why they're not the same (even though I want both out of the sport).

This is generally true, but Davis Martin didn't even have a rehydration clause

Tank as a fighter I think is very good, but most definitely beatable. His fights are fun to watch, and he brings in money. Can anyone name me a money fighter that DIDN'T hand select opponents? The list is pretty damn short. I hate it, but boxing is a business way more than it is a sport. People buy into the garbage fighters say "I'm willing to die in the ring" and all the other bs. It's PRIZE fighting...notice "Prize" is the first part of that.

To say Tank doesn't hit hard is nonsense. Is he the hardest puncher ever at that weight? Probably not but the guy hurts people. I feel it is a combination of really good power and amazing timing.

You can rip apart anyone's resume and it isn't that difficult. It's highly subjective mind you, but you can crap on anyone's resume.

Same day weigh ins and no rehydration clauses should be rules. They stopped same day weigh ins for health reasons but doing it a day earlier imo has made it worse. Same day you aren't likely to screw around whereas a day earlier guys will always think they can go lower.

Looking forward to adding to your narrative when Tank knocks Loma out and sends him into retirement.

You don't have to take the fight.

If for the sake of argument Tank is pressuring opponents in negotiations to have favorable conditions for a KO, the opponent can say no. Obviously their legacy and dignity aren't important enough to them if they're willing to take the risk of a devastating loss for a big payday.

That's cute.... You clearly don't follow Rolly......and that's fine because you aren't really missing anything, but Rolly had been draining himself ever since he turned pro. He competed at Light Welter and Welterweight as an amateur. Which if you knew anything about the sport beyond what you seen on youtube, you'd know that Light Welterweight in the amateurs is 141 lb limit, with Welterweight being 152 lb limit.

A few months before the fight, Rolly was face to face with Terence Crawford who was a pro welterweight at the time (147lbs). He and Crawford were having a back and forth with Crawford getting on the phone telling Floyd that he wanted to come to the gym and spar Rolly because he was talking reckless and lying about $20 or something.

Rolly had been talking about going up to a more comfortable weight. He talked about doing it in the post interviews of the Sparrow fight, but he got an offer to possibly face Tank Davis after a bout vs Anthony Yigit.

When he got the Tank fight, even Tank new how big Rolly gets when he hydrates, thus the reason he put the clause in effect in the contract. Don't play ignorant to ignore reality. Tank will talk stuff about being able to beat bigger guys, but if they get in the ring with him, he uses those stipulations as leverage. I haven't forgot about when he was claiming he would stop Crawford. Shortly after he admitted to a interviewer that he "was just talking"....because he knew if he ever tried to move up and challenge Crawford, Bud isn't signing with that clause in the contract.
