I’m not saying he would beat everyone but he would be in some ding dongs that’s for sure. I could see him nicking a title in today’s era.

It’s sad that Torres’ time at the top ended as quickly as it started. He pulled out of the Holt trilogy fight last minute then went life and death with a domestic level Colombian. He called it quits at 29 if I remember rightly.

He came outta nowhere then went right back to nowhere. He was like a supernova. Exploded then fizzled. Honestly I don't know if he would be top 10 today although he'd be a danger to everyone in the top 10.

He was a gunslinger, someone that isn't all that durable like Haney for instance, he'd have in hell. Someone that can take everything he throws like Pitbull or prime Prograis or a Paro would end up chopping him up and down.

Those gunslingers either get you or you get them, ain't no in-between

    -ricardo Torres
    -Juan Urango
    -Pitalua
    -Joel Julio
    -carlos Maussa
    -alejandro Berrio
    -fulgencio Zuniga
    -epifanio Mendoza
    -samuel Miller

crazy ko rates. actually just recovering from the candle lit end of my brain using boxrec. wow....soem of these brers are still fighting in their 40's :dunno

to the title of the thread
yeah, this era...titlist. looking at the top 20 at time of posting...yeah he would of had a good chance. he looked great in spurts but then again, his best perfomance was losing agaisnt cotto, he got really lucky agaisnt arnoutis and the Holt 1 fight you must remember was an outrage in officiating. the rematch was because torres should have lost in any ring that wasnt in columbia at the time.

Could get outboxed but was a bit more textbook than the craftier Urango. his left hook on the way out was beautiful. but honestly he would of been a welcome addition to this wieght...i dont see him beating anybody he should do. he was strong crisp and solid. but that could always expose him. a good jab or even a southpaw negates all his positive attributes.

That Holt KO was brutal. Ko's like that can change guys. I don't think he was the same after that.

He KO's pretty much all of them. Too big, too strong. A 230lb explosive southpaw Olympian vs. guys who are 150 on fight night is no contest.
