Could anyone come back to the heavyweight division from the past and make and immediate impact?

It's so sad that Povetkin never recovered after COVID.

He did say recently that he wanted to fight again, so maybe he is feeling better. But at 44?

This is one I can maybe, maybe see. When the title's split up, if they lay one on some Charles Martin, Bruce Seldon type who wants and easy, name defense, they dial Povetkin and he whips himself in the best shape a shot, post-covid 44 year old can get into...

But the stars would REALLY have to align.

I mean, Lewis could probably come back and beat like Charr for the regular WBA title, but that's about it.

I still believe Oquendo's time is coming. It never left, really.

I think Wlad could beat some Top 20 guys if he put the effort.

I would love to see him fight some older fighters for starters: Pulev, Ortiz, Kuzmin, even Wilder

I would actually love to see that. I bet Lewis could win that fight too despite age and inactivity.

Who knows. A woefully inferior version of Foreman returned after 20 years to KO the HW champ in the 90s so anything is possible.

he stomped down the dude that stomped the little brother that he allowed to reign (their mom told vitali to not beat up his little bro any more...ok? what are you gonna' do?) as champ for so long. Vitali (who never stompened anybody down, right?) enjoys a 91% KO rate. you're not enhancing your credibility with this statement, friend.

Yeah, he ALLOWED his brother to reign, lol. Not that he was so fragile he was getting injured every other fight and training camp and had to retire because of it. Too bad he didn't stomp Byrd who made him quit on his stool and his little brother had to stomp him for him. Twice. Apparently you can be a H2H monster now when your biggest carrier win is Corrie Sanders, lol. You're a funny dude.

Wlad still keeps in shape and has a weekly spar iirc. Vitali has left boxing behind to pursue politics and never really had the durability to last all too long. Power’s the last thing to go and a Wlad right hand is enough to slump most guys in the HW top 10. Zhang is pretty old and stationary with a bad gas tank, Big Baby Anderson looks pretty beatable, and who knows how a Fury rematch would go now that both are pretty spent. Dr Steelhammer to go undisputed for the first time in 2025!
