Sure this thread has been done a bajillion times, sorry if it has im still relatively new and haven’t seen this topic discussed.

Watched Holmes vs Tyson earlier and it was my first time seeing holmes, nothing amazing from holmes but his start to the 4th was honestly pretty dazzling. The whole match I was focused on larrys arm swaying like a pendulum(was that hitman btw? I couldn’t tell.) and it had me thinking how incredible it was that this old man stepped in the ring with a prime Iron Mike. I’ll definitely watch more of Holmes but anyways,
Who wins prime to prime IYO?

Tyson would win 9 out of 10 fights. Of course, I assume it's Tyson from 1987, let's say from the Biggs fight. The one from Berbick was probably not yet experienced enough, the one from Spinks was bored with success. I think Larry would lead on points in every fight, but sooner or later he would get hit and Mike would finish the job. Holmes lowered his left hand too often. There is no way that Tyson would not hit him in 12 or 15 rounds.

    I'll take Holmes.

Why do I have a bad feeling about this?

Probably because of Holmes’s susceptibility to the right hand and Tyson’s finishing skills.

I can see it going either way.

I was mostly talking about the thread, lol. Holmes threads always seem to get heated.

Tyson was literally being trained to counter Holmes' style as it was thought he could still be the champion. I hold Larry in very high regard, but this match up just doesn't work for him.

No different than what we saw in 1988. One sided KO. Holmes doing the chicken-leg Zab Judah dance as many times as you put them together.
