But my friend read it closely. The pad was only illegal due to the fact it was a used pad that Capetillo accidently took out of his bag & placed in the s wrap it wasnt until Richardson complained & asked the wrap be removed & he made the untrue claim about plaster blocks falling out.. Yes the pad was technically illegal because it wasn't a new pad which the rules state. Only then did Louis claim he saw "white plaster like substance" smeared on it. No one else claimed to see the plaster bocks or the white substance, only Louis & Richardson. Strange that isn't it.. the pads were deemed harmless by the lab after microscopical analysis . one thing puzzles me Why weren't Richardson & Louhis questioned about the non existant Plaster Bocks & & the white substance that the lab never mentioned in their findings ?? Does all this look like justice that a man lost his right to earn a living & having his good name tarnished based on what were obvious lies.
Its Over Its done Lets just put it to bed Let KARMA deal with it. I believe it will

There was NO PLASTER EVER FOUND!!! That is a LIE. Look at Cotto's face in the rematch it was beaten just as bad, plus Pac man beat his face to a pulp too did those fights have Plaster too??? Cotto took lots of beatings No one claimed to have actually see any plaster involved .The whole scenario was based on a lie

ONLY two witnesses? Do we need to have 10? Or 20? LOL.

And the lab tests backed up the presence of sulfur and calcium.

No one in Margarito’s camp has ever denied the attempt to use illegal hand wraps. Not the fighter. Not his trainer.

    Case closed.

Some plaster found by the commission just before the mosley fight and looking at Cottos face it's a bit difficult to support the innocent stance. Capetillo did play the ignorance position like they didn't know and it was a mistake, and corruption is certainly possible but why ? Why would they do this ?

Yes microscopic lab tests did detect TRACE ELEMENTS of both calcium & sulpher which indeed are ingredients of plaster in MUCH LARGER QUANTITIES!! But both are ingredients of HUMAN SWEAT & in certain hand crèmes too in the quantities discovered but NOT in the manufacture of PLASTER at all.
Case closed but Justice was no way served no one has ever come forward & proved there was EVER any plaster involved or they would have legally indicted Mqargarito
    Now just let it rest
Just one question I'd like to ask you to answer HONESTLY!!!!! Do you really believe the NSAC's attempt to clear Mayweather was Kosher???? They said " Mr Mayweather did nothing wrong at IV gate" ROFL He only broke 4 of their own rules on Saline drip treatment & was caught red handed. No one else has offered to.
Boxing is totally corrupt my friend & we all know it

The pads were illegal. Period. The trainer even admitted it.

I don’t see what Floyd Mayweather has to do with Margarito’s hand wraps. You might as well ask me if I think Sonny Liston took a dive in the second Ali fight — neither has anything to do with this topic.

I was just comparing the two scenarios Margarito's & Mayweathers
Margarito was unjustly punished because no one could prove he'd ever done anything wrong himself
Mayweather was caught red handed in his home getting treatment with illegal saline 24 hours before fighting Pac. We all know why that's is used illegally don't we?? I just asked you if you thought he was guilty After all they have solid proof of illegalities there don't they. It seems though that sadly you prefer not to answer my question whether or not you believe he was innocent. because the proof is right there I wonder why LOL
We must just agree to disagree on two boxers I'm off to bed Goodnight

Because it has nothing to do with this topic.

It’s two different commissions. Each state has its own rules. By the rules in California, the fighter is the head of the team and thus responsible for cornermen breaking rules. Margarito got caught with illegal hand wraps in California.

None of this has anything do with Floyd. They aren’t the same situation. They aren’t even the same government oversight agency (because they’re in different states and each state has its own rules) so its apples and oranges in more than one way.

Somehow in your mind you’ve equated the two. Do you not see how this makes zero sense, that’s it’s two different and completely unrelated situations with different commissions?

I don’t know what else to say about it.

Start a thread on Floyd if you want to discuss that topic, because it has nothing to do with this one.

If he was caught attempting to cheat against Mosley in a fight where he was a safe favorite and expected to win, then it's a no brainer he attempted the same against Cotto (an undefeated highly celebrated/hyped Puerto Rican) in a fight he was expected to lose.

Would plaster even provide any benefit? I remember they tested this out decades ago where one fighter purposefully loaded his gloves with plaster (it may have been Cleveland Williams), and if my memory serves me right, he hurt his hands pretty bad just hitting the heavy bag at like 50% force. He said the plaster broke all apart inside his gloves and it was like he was punching crushed up concrete or gravel.

Plaster probably isn't doing the offender any favors, but an older and packed in knuckle pad isn't as likely to hurt the fighter since it would still rest upon the wraps covering the fighter's hands. But, even with the glove covering it, it could make it easier for the fighter to inflict damage upon a foe becuase there would be less of a cushion across the knuckle during impact. That would have been important to a volume puncher whose plan involved making frequent contact to an opponent.

No, look at Cotto's face at the end of the fight...he clearly loaded his gloves...Cotto beat him easily in the rematch when Margarito couldn't cheat.

    Cheating scum
He's just a mummy with a good chin and stamina, needed the plaster to beat more superior opponents

You did bump it the last post was in 2019 and yours was the first reply in 2024.

You're telling me to go worship my heroes ? I'm not the one constantly posting about Margarito's handwraps 10000+ times for how many years now is it ? and I'm not the one bumping a 5 year old thread to go on another rant about the same subject you have consistently ranted about for YEARS that's called an obsession.

I'm not trying to have a go at you I'm merely just saying you need to let it go and find some peace in your life it's not healthy keep ranting about it it's done and dusted I mean the Mosley vs Margarito fight was over a decade ago wasn't it ?
