Boots is going to smoke 147 and 154 like Gouda cheese. You'll see how Ennis outmaneuvers and walks down larger fighters just wait
Boots real career starts now with Matchroom. Hearn is planning unifications with Stanionis or Barrios next, whoever doesn't duck. I'm telling you now Ennis clears 147 and 154 outside of Crawford, you're going to get your prediction wrong.
I haven't really made any predictions on Ennis's career just a bit concerned he get hits too much and for me he hasn't really proven himself yet. I'd like to see him succeed I have nothing against him as a fighter I like watching him fight i just think he needs to tighten up his defense and i need to see him prove himself against a top level fighter.
With time and effort anyone can make a youtube highlight reel of any fighter doing anything in the ring. Cool videos don't change the fact that Ennis stays in the pocket just a little longer than he should and gets hit for it. The real question becomes how will Boots take it when he's not the larger man?
You can but it shows that he has pretty good defence when he wants to use it. He's an aggressive fighter with great offence who is looking to hurt you and get you out of there. Maybe he won't stay in the pocket as much when he's facing legit bangers his size and will be more defensively responsible. I think he has that in his locker. Regarding his size. I'm a bit confused by it. He's obviously a powerful puncher but he's also very physically strong too. I don't think he's rehydrating a ton of weight after weighs ins but he does look big and he did look noticeably bigger than Avanesyan the other night. With someone like Haney he looks like the undead at weigh ins and we know he's ballooning way up 20-25lbs, but I don't think Super Boots is doing that. Maybe he's just got a big frame. He looks like a MW but he also looks quite slim too.
I don't know if Boots trains in Philly or not, but the gym Wars here are legendarily brutal. You're absolutely right, he needs to show what he can do against guys at the next level.
I dont think he had much respect for Avenesyans power. I would like Ennis to tighten up his defense though.
You're measuring Crawford (#1, 2 or 3 p4p) against Boots and Crawford is clearly better than Boots defensively. Not sure what that proves, there's not really a question. He's also 9+ years older than Boots. Then the entire Boots was getting hit, it simply doesn't ring true. He really wasn't. Even in the pocket he barely took more punishment than Crawford and simply absorbed what he did take. Is taking what you know you can take to get your heavier shots off an issue now? Numbers don't lie: Crawford/Avenesyan 80/602-48/276 Ennis/Avenesyan 152/327 - 53/225 He didn't take all that much. And Boots is tall not bigger. He's skinny and ripped with broad shoulders. Everyone in the top 10 at WW is between 5'8 and 5'10 (Barrios is 6'0) and most of them are broader across the shoulders than him. He does not have this overwhelming size advantage against them. I'd argue no one really has much of a size advantage over anyone at WW. It's a lot of parity (unlike JMW for example where you have guys that are 5'7 up through 6'6). He's not even anywhere near as big as Vergil, Errol or Ugas. If we're using height only as size and not overall frames then we have to give Tank and Pitbull way more credit because both are damn near midgets in the divisions they are competing in. As for elite fighters at WW, where are they? Crawford and Spence are gone, Keith openly declined as did Stanionis (and attempted to fight each other before that fell apart), Barrios pulled out, then fought Maidana's little brother and Crowley might be have permanent issues. It's not a big lake at the moment at WW. I think you're being very harsh on someone that has lost maybe 3-4 rounds in his past 3 fights. I agree with you he needs the most elite that he can find and that he should be moving towards unifications, but no one is clamoring to fight him.
I can understand the sentiments he had no respect for Ava’s power, caught a fair few shots flush but he was never troubled, nothing wrong with showing a chin sometimes. Come forward fighters will land on you don’t matter who you are and Ava is hardly a pushover. We saw how often Santillan landed on Norman too and I think Ennis Norman is the 1 to make next.
People forget Villa was as big if not bigger than Ennis with power in both hands Boots washed him in a career best performance This content is protected
I’ve believed Vergil would beat boots, from the start. Still do. I also think Vergil is bigger and stronger than boots. Ortiz dad looks like he would be a lhw, so I would expect Vergils problems at 147 to have been him outgrowing a division he couldn’t make anymore. He looks big now, but still wiry. I think he’s gonna be the last man standing at 154. If he waits for bud till after a couple more fights with top guys.
I personally think he beats Ortiz. From what I can tell, Ennis is probably more durable, will fight Ortiz in the pocket much better than most think and would pick him apart whenever he's out of range Boots hyperactive offense is a double edged sword he is way too open and that is concerning, but If Ennis has an iron chin like I suspect even Crawford might be in trouble
We will see…hopefully. This is the way I saw the matchup in 2019, and so far haven’t seen reason to change anything. Ortiz has been more dominant against better fighters, so I gotta see how boots does against a serious contender before I better his chances vs Ortiz.
