Another good reason to get up at/before dawn to do road work: Makes you go to bed earlier.

That saying that nothing good happens after midnight? It’s true with one exception: sleep. If you start that early and have a full day, you’re probably in bed rather than carousing at night where trouble can happen.

That may not be an issue for everyone, but I’ve known my fair share of fighters at all levels who have managed to get themselves caught up in nightlife situations that turned bad.

It's almost horses for courses, but not doing roadwork back in the day early a huge red flag.

Modern be way different the training is another level top fighters and any fighter trying to climb that ladder its about discipline.Whatever your schedule.

St Pt, ever read the old book BOXIANA...Pierce Egan? Its the book from the original recorded Bare Knuckle days.

Mentioned many times the fighter in any major fight has to have an 'anxiety' to train.

I have BOXIANA and have read through it in pieces but never from cover to cover.

    I definitely should.

Some people have a gift for conditioning and for training … a drive. Those people usually come closer to reaching their potential than those who don’t.

    Its all Ballhacks :(:(:(

I actually run at 0330 am
Not because I'm the man but because I have to unlock our yard at 0300 then there is nothing to do until 6am :):):)

You gain absolutely bugger all from it and I would say it has a negative effect on a professional athlete
Far more effective to stay in bed until 7 and get more quality sleep Then go out when it is warmer and day light
