Yes Seamus that is the magic word. I’d also pick Sharkey, Moore, Marciano, Charles, Conn , Dempsey and Toney.
He was a poor man's Henry Maske by modern standards. Modern boxers hit to hurt and have been recruited for athleticism. He would get steamrolled by Holy, and by Moore and Charles and Toney.
We agree, Tommy's not nearly as good as Henry, got spanked regularly throughout his career. Maske was a gem, both in amateurs and as a spotless professional.
Holyfield was a great fighter that beat the 6`5 Bowe who would have destroyed Tommy, Holy was an extremely good heavyweight far stronger than Tommy, with a great chin and good power.
This is really tough to say what fighters are too big for Loughran to beat. Loughran was the sort of guy who could beat anyone at HW but probably wouldn't. He is capable of beating a lot more guys than he would be favored against thats for sure. Loughran was probably the GOAT LHW when he went up to HW. At LHW virtually everyones on the table and so is everyone at HW before the 70s except Joe Louis.
