Kosei Tanaka talking right now. Sucks that Rodriguez ate too many burritos and the fight was canned.

Kōsei Tanaka is now in the ring addressing the fans, apologizing for not competing today and then bowing to each side of the crowd in Sumo Hall. Such a very uniquely culturually Japanese thing, publicly expressing contrition for your opponent's unprofessionalism. :sisi1

Okay, this is far less exciting - a compilation of ring introductions? :dunno

edit: no, they had Michael Buffer introducing Pacquiao, then switched to him introducing Emanuel Navarrete, and now it's clips of Navarrete's kayos. What a dumb tease.

edit2: young Junito now, that's better.

Yeah, whole training camp for Tanaka down the drain. Shame they couldn't scrape together a late notice sub for him to at least stay busy, even in a non-title affair.

As for Titán, not sure what the hell he was thinking coming that heavy. He was lucky to even have this opportunity - ranked #12 by the WBO so not exactly front of the pack, and he really hasn't done jack since the loss to Ancajas.

Seems like Nasukawa is moving down to 118. His last one and this are both contested at 120. This has gotten Nasukawa the following rankings at 118:
    WBC: 13
    WBA: 7
    WBO: 10

I wish Nasukawa would have just sticked to kickboxing. He won't reach the same heights in boxing as he did in kickboxing and he's a far more exciting kickboxer than a boxer. I get that it's a financial move but it just seems so weird to switch to a discipline you are much worse at.

I was wondering how Nasukawa was top 15 at 122 over Subaru Murata and
Mirazizbek Mirzakhalilov but seems like he’s gone down to 118. Might help his power

Tenshin Nasukawa vs. Jonathan Rodríguez Torres, 10 rounds @ super bantamweight**

**technically actually a contracted catchweight of 120lbs; Nasukawa made it on the nose and Rodríguez came in at 119¼.

He shouldn't be ranked at either bantam or super bantam until he competes in either division. There's no such division as 120lbs. :sisi1

I have an odd feeling that Rodriguez is going to KO the very unimpressive Tenshin. Granted, it's a longshot, because Rodriguez is chinny as ****, but he's also pretty damned heavy handed.

I´m not so sure about the financial part. Sure, the overall pay in boxing is better but Nasukawa made millions vs Takeru, if the rumors are true.

Honestly no matter what the kid does - he could become a 5 weight class unified champion - he's never shaking the image of getting toyed with and stopped in minutes by an old, retired, laughingly phoning-it-in Mayweather. That was just capital humiliation.

Never once fought at the bantamweight limit but ranked at 7 by the WBO lol. Wonder how much that cost or if the orgs are really that incompetent and DKSAB.
