What went wrong exactly with Canelo's career post-Bivol?

I mean, his last hurrah was a beautiful performance against Plant, his efforts against Bivol were admirable imo (I remember people on reddit commentin' and predictin' him going to cruiser to face Usyk before that defeat tho LMAOO) but then it was like his dreams got crushed and after dropping down again he resorted to not fighting exactly the best available.
I mean, I would be ok if the last three opponents were fighters he faced by the end of his career but nope, mf recently said he is IN HIS PRIME and went against boxers that don't exactly show his hunger or prove he is chasing greatness, having questionable career choices I would have expected Tank to take not him. What do you think? Are you pleased with Cinnamon lately or nah? Especially after announcing his future matches, my interest for his figure plummeled lmao

Because he lost 11 rounds to someone, that 90% of his fans did not knew.

Then casual boxing fans played a part in his, legacy-wise speaking obviously, downfall and is sad because his undoing came from Bivol which is no joke as a fighter.

Canelo is an ATG, I have no problem with that, but if he lived up to his hype, he'd be part of a pantheon of gods by now.

Honestly nothing has gone wrong with it.

He fought and won the trilogy against his main nemesis Golovkin, he beat up and humbled a fellow undisputed champion and he just fought a mexican rival. No one really holds his loss against a LHW titlist against him deeming it a bridge too far. His one miss is Benavidez and it is a miss but if he never fights him, 10 years down the line it won't be a big fuss except among boxing purists/fans and his detractors.

He's been a fraud his entire career.

Fought nothing but bums and he's underperformed in all his fights.

Bringing khan up 2 weight classes shoudlve warned u he was a opportunistic fraud.

He did it again vs charlo and will do it again vs crawford.

Fought s kovalev who was shot, Fought GGG a third time when he had no buisness fighting him and couldn't dent him, couldn't dent jcc Jr anither fraud fighter.

He finally across a real fighter in benevidez and ran away from him only to fight 2 weight class lighter charlo, berlanga, and now crawford next.

Obv everyone uses a different criteria, but for me he's more of a valid HoF than an ATG because his achievements pale in comparison to real ATGs.

it also greatly matters what Benevidez accomplishes on his own. If they never fight.

In essence he wanted to keep ascending
Pushed it too far vs Bivol
& since that he figured ta hell wit it
    “Tis my Royal Right!”
    Well NOT on my dime.

A scenario I could envision it affecting Canelo would be if Benavidez fought and beat Bivol, it would then be a situation where people can say, "look, he ducked Benavidez and then Benavidez beat someone that dominated him".

Now with that being said, I don't see any way that David beats Bivol and I think he may end up running into a couple brick walls at LHW, but if something like that would happen..............

I think Benevidez could beat bivol
If he is serious about moving up & staying there - taking his time to settle in that weight class by adding quality muscle.

but yeah if he did that.
The echo chamber for canelo will be that of perpetual “duck face” meme!

He'd been a pro for about 15 years by then and had been facing the top guys for 10 of those, so I think he felt the same as Holmes did post Clooney, only interested in easy paydays.

With that said Ryder and Mungia were decent opponents. And he may yet man up for Benavidez.
