Joe Joyce vs Chisora prediction thread .....

People thought they were getting the Joyce that fought Parker tonight. Those of us who watched the Kash Ali fight knew different

A guy that takes as many shots as Joyce does can't win big fights. He found the money maker against Parker, the shot he KO'd Parker with he never usually throws.

 

He would've beaten Parker without the KO anyway to be fair, he matches up well against Parker's style.

 

I tend to give the benefit of the doubt on a come back fight. But hats off, this was a perfect assessment

Got this one wrong. It looked like my prediction might happen in the 9th as Chisora was clearly at his limit but then Chisora showed why he's been fighting at the top level for so long and dropped Joyce. That changed the fight and Joyce had lost too many rounds and at that point had to stop Chisora which he failed to do.

Joyce has clearly declined. While he can still take a punch and never looked hurt once in that fight even after being dropped he went right at Chisora. Zhang simply maybe the biggest single puncher in the division right now, just because Zhang KO'ed Joyce doesn't mean everyone will. But Joyce came in too heavy, he may have taken Chisora too lightly but regardless of that he isn't the same fighter that he was. He's not shot, but he's now clearly a gatekeeper and any idea of him challenging for a title is not realistic. But Joyce could still have a good career, making good money as a gatekeeper like Chisora has, he will always bring it and will always be durable against all but the biggest punchers.

 

Can we be honest? This was clearly a robbery.

 

It shouldn't have been wide, but it wasn't a clear Joyce win either - a close SD for either man is fine, IMHO.

The 97-92 card I don't like - the others are fine.
