I only ever saw him as a face fighter.

What happened to him is what happens to all face fighters: stepped up in class a bit, chin got cracked, suddenly that granite chin ain’t so granite anymore.

I never saw a bit of improvement in him at any point. One-trick pony, can only fight one way and that way involves eating punches like gumdrops.

Don't get me wrong I agree Chisora won. I had him winning by a point.

Chisora clearly won that.. Joyce did nothing for me, had sucess in the middle rounds but overall i saw Chisora (even an old, weary & cumbersome Chisora running on fumes for 9 rounds lol) out fight & outland with the telling shots .. what a fkin war horse Chisora is.. nothing wrong with that decision, tho the cards were a little wide granted. Enjoyable, respect to both.

Chisora won by like 3 or 4 points imo, landed the cleaner punches, yes Joyce threw more punches, but it’s about who landed the cleaner, I wouldn’t say Chisora edged Joyce, he won fairly, although it was a competitive fight.

OK. It's not like I made a conscious decision to stop scoring it. I was just so engrossed I forget about doing so. That doesn't happen very often. In fact, the last time I think it happened was in that other Brit Level domestic HW dust up between Watdlry and Clarke

Nor am I, it's abundantly clear that Joe's better days are behind him, no one including myself is saying otherwise. I merely scored the fight like I saw it, clearly several other posters saw it the same as I, by no means does that make one a deluded fanboy. Sure Chisora has an argument for a one point win due to the knockdown, but no wider.

Of course it does, because Joyce is almost 39 and Filip is 32. He has plenty more losses to pick up along the way before he retires than Joe. And face it, when you're getting outwilled, walked down and beaten senseless by Daniel Dubois. That means he's in the same worthless oaf territory. I have a hard time seeing Filip beat anyone in the top 10, hell.. I'm not even sure he beats Chisora, at least with these judges.

That's why I don't like the fact that a knockdown usually results in a 10-8 round.

If the fighter who scored the knockdown was losing the round then he'll gain 3 points from that single moment.

The worse he was doing, the more he benefits from the knockdown...

    That's not right.

British standard chins are the envy of the world. Blow per blow they withstand better overall than any other nation.

I think it had more to do with it putting you in a hypnotic trance, that can happen when you watch matches in slow motion.:sisi1

One of the greatest displays of heart and unwillingness to give in by an old fighter I’ve seen. If this was Chisora’s last, what a swan song.

    Well worth watching.

Im not soo sure that Dereck deserve win here. Yes his shoots was more specktacular but same he probably land less than Joe.
He catch Joyce at 9 round off course but he was fighting for life there.
Joe was most of the time offensive site and look much better condition in second half.

I want see punch stats because it can be pretty similar situation to Pulev 2 fight where Chisora get decision on fight where in more rounds he land less shots.

I understand that his shoots was nice looking, more specktacular than Joe hands shots but still its boxing. U dont win fight because u land more visible punches. You must land more also.

Both are for sure not top players today. Fight looks like drunken uncles fight on party. 0 defence and only attack with full force.

Both ask for serious health problem. A special Dereck who got few war like this in past where he took shots again and again when he almost dont have strenght to stay on his feet...

I wait for punch stats because Im not sure about results.
And I think Parker should ask for Joe reematch. In this shape from both I guess he can easy win decision with Joyce who is slow as f...
