He also lost to men that Holmes would never have lost to, probably even in his comeback.

Too many big names left out but it should come down to Ali or Lewis with Usyk possibly making it depending on how he finishes his career

He also beat men Holmes wouldn't have, had a longer reign, had more defences, actually unified, didn't cherrypick easy fights even when he was pushing 40, and fought at a higher level for a longer time against better opposition than Holmes bested.

I think the bottom line, is that he was probably easier to beat.

I disagree, personally I rank Wlad above Holmes both historically and H2H. His chin was always shaky and let him down but he was a towering hulk with two steelhammers for hands and was a more versatile fighter technically than Holmes in my eyes.

    Nothing wrong with that.
I think that it would be easier to find somebody who could crack Wlad's chin, than it would be to find somebody who could outpoint Holmes.

I never implied he was stupid. My point was Cus did not believe in steroids or weight training, so he instilled that into Tyson, Tyson somewhat addopted his beliefs.
Here's a short clip of Mike giving his opinion on steroids:

Ali. Interesting that it is probably as clear cut as these questions get for any division?

Nobody has a clue at fly, there are a bunch of guys in the chat at bantam Pep and Saddler's real life shenanigans just confuse featherweight so much, Duran is the obvious choice at lightweight, I think, but he has this perfect foil hanging about in the form of Whitaker plus Benny Leonard - welterweight should be obvious enough, but he doesn't straddle black and white/colour like Ali did so there's some doubt, especially with the emergence of Floyd Mayweather, beloved by modernists. Middleweight, lol, light-heavyweight a total mess an absolute head-to-head disaster.

Then you have Ali, he is obviously superb, clearly has the best resume in the division's history, can be seen in colour, has a meaningful style advantage over the only other guy in his greatness class and he's the same size as the current number one, who happens to count among his victims all the big guys people would love to pick over Ali. It's a perfect storm.

Performance Enhancing drugs aren't limited to steroids.

You did imply Tyson was stupid, even if you did not intend to. You said "Tyson did not believe PEDs make you better".

Anyone who doesn't realise that Performance enhancing drugs enhance performance is stupid.

I don't think Tyson, or any other world class boxers from that time or since, failed to understand the significance of the "PE" in PEDs.

The Norton win wasn't even his greatest win at the time. Kenny gets overrated on Holmes because he was the biggest name he won against other than Ali.

Who do you rate higher than Norton, Shavers? His best win was Norton whereas Kenny can claim a win over Ali, and three close fights with Ali and Holmes

The Shavers that Holmes fought twice was superior to the Norton that he faced. As good as Norton was, he was not the same man that he was during his prime years, and the fight itself shows that. If we rate Norton as the highest man due to a win over Ali years prior, then we must rate Muhammad himself higher than Kenny simply due to their own resumes- And nobody rates Ali as Holmes highest win. I'd rate many men over the Norton that Holmes fought.

So what your saying is either Norton was past his best and still nearly beat Holmes in a very close 15 round fight or he was close to his prime and Holmes still struggled to beat him which shows how great Kenny was

The question I would like answering is which ATG fighter in his prime did Holmes beat
