That's just plain wrong. Parker has an iron chin that is a fact.

 

I believe he has top 3 chins right now. He is very solid for his weight and size.

 

No he doesn't. Dropped by Chsiora in round 1, dropped and hurt badly by Whyte, brutally knocked out by Joyce. He has a pretty good chin nobody will disagree there, but it's not iron, how can it be ? It's been penetrated several times.

 

Wow he got dropped by 250 pound + men who can all CRACK. Joyce attrition stopped him. Parker hates pressure and forced at a pace he doesn't like. Not enough crack to deter Joyce.

 

Excellent observation. For the boxing novices here, it's worth remembering a truism when it comes to chins:

Once they crack, they don't come back!!!

Joyce is about the best illustration of this I can think of in recent times.

 

If the one takeaway you took from that fight is Joyce's chin is overrated then I don't know what to tell you. He took numerous clean overhand rights and left hooks and wasn't particularly hurt by any of them (even with the knockdown, Joyce got up promptly and went straight back to putting the pressure on Chisora). Joyce has many limitations but his chin isn't one of them.

 

And ? A prime Wach is iron chinned. Oliver Mccall. Arguably Tua, Usyk. Even Joyce has the better case. Joyce is heavy handed but compared to his contemporaries his power is nothing special. Parker has a good chin. It's not iron.

 

I thought about this abit and after watching chisora last night, I can see why, most fighters don’t sit in and throw knowing they will have to take one on the chin, chisora isn’t arsed about that so he can plant his feet and give it everything.
In short he is willing to fully commit to a shot without any hesitation, and that will translate to extra power

 

Usyk said in early June that Chisora is the hardest puncher he has ever fought and he wasn't just referring to Brits at the time.

 

Chisora hit Joyce with about 100 clean shots before that so I don't know how you can say that Joyce doesn't have a great chin

Watch is an ATG chin but I don't think he ever took this many flush shots, what makes Joyce unique is that he has 0 defense so on top of having an iron chin, it gets tested every 10 seconds.
