After that upset he deserves one more nice big payday. Fast Car Eddie is talking about matching him with some Johnny Fisher bloke - I have no idea who tf Fisher even is. :nusenuse:

Another go at Whyte sounds about right. And before anybody says "but he lost to him twice already!" - hey, there's precedent; he got three cracks at Fury, innit? :sisi1

I've been a big longtime fan of Chisora. What you see is what you get with, Del. He always has given it a good go for the most of his fights. We've had the odd one or two where he's been a bit unmotivated and could of done better effort wise. But for the most part he's given his all.

One big thing I like about him is his mental strength & resilience in losses ( I know, he's had plenty). He's definitely not one who takes it to heart, he can lose on a Saturday night, maybe feel down all day Sunday, and then, come Monday he's good to go again...

His mental durability and stubborn self belief is a stark contrast in loss to many other fighters, who may lose and then they may never be quite the same fighter ever again, or it takes them an age to get back to where they were mentally prior to any loss. No sports psychologist's was ever needed in Dels case. He just plain old fashionedly, got back on his feet and dusted him self off. He's got skin like a rhino.

He says he wants to finish his career with 50 fights, I'd be happy if he seriously called it a day now. But, if he can command a couple more big paydays and he personally feels he's ok then good luck to him.

So, If he fights two more times, I'll be rooting for him two more times.

As an American fan, I've never known what "Del Boy" meant. Can someone tell me?

Aside from the Helenius robbery, I also thought Chisora edged Parker in their first fight, and YES, I thought he outworked USYK, too. How do you like that?

He's better than his record suggests.

AFAIK it's a character from a well liked old sitcom.

Never understood what the character's got to do with a Zimbabwean boxer though.

He's a Cockney womanizer or summat?

I imagine it's probable that many Derek's growing up in London from the 80s onward ended up with the Del Boy nickname especially if they had a bit of patter!

Even though he lost against Parker in the second fight I was in awe of his bravery. The man is an absolute warrior. The Takam fight was one of the most exciting fights I ever watched.
Whyte 1 was close, he was winning Whyte 2 before the KO, gave Usyk a run for his money. The Kabayel loss looks much better now we now how good he is. Should have won Parker 1. Look what Parker went on to do.

Chisora's last two years have been incredible. Back in 2021 he got knocked down three times and battered by Parker, it looked like his career was effectively over. But since then he's won three of his last four fights, upsetting clear favourites Pulev and Joyce.

I might be a little more excited for Del Boy had he actually deserved the win, but it sucks that his streak of close robbery losses, had to be broken with a close robbery win over a far nicer fellow, who is much easier to root for in Joe Joyce. I mean... let's be honest, Chisora is a profoundly unlikable mentally ill headcase and a scumbag, who spit in Wlad's face, bit Butlin's ear and beat up his ex-girlfriend. Quite frankly he should have gone to jail for throwing a table at Whyte.

the record he has put together? You are crediting him for losses. He has lost basically all of his big fights. Weird post!

I wouldn't invite him over for Christmas dinner or anything, just thought he deserved a lifetime achievement tip-of-the-cap for being such a hard basterd. :sisi1
