And he is trained by the Diaz brothers, so he has some dog in him. I see it being Crawfords toughest fight of his career.
It'll take a special fighter to beat this version of Crawford, Madrimov may be bigger and may be stronger.....whether that's enough? I doubt it. But of course it'll be a tough test.
Ill say the same as I always do on the night of the fight..... May the better man on the night get the win he legitimately deserves Don't know much about Madrimov so if I had to pick it would be Crawford
Crawford is 37 years old, fighting in his 4th weight division after starting at 135 coming off another 1 year+ layoff. And Madrimov is young and hungry, undefeated and a champion after winning 2 amateur asian gold medals. As usual, Crawford opponents are nitpicked but an upset here would NOT be shocking. Nonetheless Crawford is tied for #1 PFP so he is yet again the favorite. A route of Madrimov makes Canelo possible. A close decision win makes Boots possible...or at least further unification at 154. A loss likely means retirement.
Crawford will never be aged out of boxing he’s to versatile and to talented, I don’t think this is quite the step up that people are suggesting, I think a lot of this chat is probably people just covering themselves in the extremely unlikely event of an upset, but the telling thing is no one is willing to absolutely commit to predicting Crawford getting beat. Because everyone knows that he will win, and he will give a few early rounds to his opponent this will be used to make an argument, but the truth is that Crawford is that good and composed that he can and will take his time and in the end absolutely dismantle his opponent on Saturday night.
I have no problem admitting that I’m an absolute Crawford fan and I love him even more for giving it to Eddie Hearn… “I got your money, you want it? Come get it, it’s right here” I didn’t like that at all from Eddie bringing up a minimal amount of money to dispute, embarrassing. You don’t put money disputes on someone in public, have some class
Crawford is a great fighter, but you are kidding yourself if you think he is immune to age. Father Time is undefeated.
Madrimov is a very good fighter that people are overlooking because they haven't heard of him. People seem way more focused on the prospects of a Canelo showdown than the challenge Bud has right Infront of him. If Crawford overlooks Madrimov aswell then he will be in for at the very least, a tough night.
He is I know that but he won’t allow that to happen, he is so in tune with his capabilities that he will never take a fight that he is not capable of displaying the best of himself. He is different from the rest. Age will show differently with him, he is smart enough to adapt and will make the required adjustments to extend his career as long as he wants to.
