Did Madrimov make a mistake or a success by feinting too much?

Personally, I think Madrimov lost a lot of energy during the fight by feinting too much... but I think that was what made him a more difficult target for Terence to hit... however, I don't know if it affects more to be hit when you're tired or to accumulate more hits but with less fatigue... I don't know if it was a mistake or a success...

Hard to say. Maybe Crawford is able to find his target more without all the feinting.
    Hard to say.

    The feinting helped

Crawford never got a rhythm going despite finding success albeit in small bursts

Exactly, he did too most posturing and not enough sustained aggression. He even alluded to that in the post fight when he said in a rematch he would be able to do more than he did, anotherwords he was very cautious and held back out of respect for Bud's skills, and in the end that's what I think cost him. He was too worried about being countered to go all out. He also missed some shots wildly. At times he did find the range and connect, but Bud was catching him often as well. Bud outjabbed Madrimov, and landed the more flashy shots, whereas Madrimov landed the heavier power shots. But Bud didn't seem to be bothered by anything Madrimov landed, even when he was caught clean. I think this shows that Bud has a good chin to be able to be chin checked against a heavy handed 154-lb and stick to his gameplan. Bud also outlanded him to the body. Madrimov's head and upper body movement was somewhat effective but it also caused him be too focused on trying to evade shots and didn't give him enough opportunities to land sustained offense. To your point, there was a lot of wasted energy I think by Madrimov using all that upper body and head movement but it was a calculated strategy to make it hard for Bud to land clean, and that part of it worked to some extent, but as the fight wore on Bud started catching him with a lot of straights and one-twos from range and sort of offset the occasional power shot that Madrimov was able to land.

Success definitely. The main thing Madrimov could’ve improved on imo was following up more after he landed something and had Crawford retreating.

A better gas tank would’ve helped too as he really looked gassed in the last two rounds and wasn’t feinting or probing anymore which meant he didn’t really have a way to create offense, all he could do was wing random punches. You could say all the movement was what tired him out though I guess.

Madrimov was stalking and feinting played a big part of his game plan.

It also made him hard to hit as the punch stats show

Yeah, I felt he did a bit. I think he might look back at this and feel that he let it slip by doing too little except feinting early on.

Good gameplan nonetheless, very good mentality by Madrimov of not going for broke there, he didn't give Crawford the KO. While Bud looked big there, him vs Canelo should be next.

I just witnessed how Crawford struggled to win against an inexperienced Madrimov.

The feinting helped, but he needed to land more.

feinting helped him keep from getting knocked out, but it didnt help him score. he needed to sneak a punch in amongst all that feinting. but he would have been stopped if he pushed it more. i suppose its a pick your poison kind of situation.
