What surprised me most about Anderson was his fight plan or lack of one. I thought he'd use his jab ,move side to side , give him angles and counter with right hands. I never suspected his plan was to stand in front of Bakole and get hit. Anderson looked completely unfocused ,confused and was a fighter who had no corner to aid him whatsoever, assuming of course he even listens. He needs to find a new team and maybe a new attitude.

I didn't say defense is correlated to chin.

You cannot call anyone stupid after claiming Bakole's punches wouldn't have KOd anyone else. I suppose David Price would've taken those on the chin and turned things around?

A "glass jawed" fighter wouldn't have gotten up 3x and survived that many heavy blows.

It's his mind set. Some boxers get hurt and decide to try and get revenge planting their feet instead of moving or clinching to recover. Spence did the same thing against Crawford and it pissed me off. After the 2nd knockdown, I knew he was going to lose because he insisted on fighting aggressively on the front foot when hurt.

I know Anderson personally. In fact, my brother used to spar with him when they were amateurs in Toledo. He had the talent to win this fight, but a bad game plan. Hiring Sugar Hill wasn't a great idea because Hill focuses primarily on offense. Anderson's offense is ok for the most part, but he was not moving his head or legs enough and had leaky defense. He needs a coach who is going to tighten up that guard and reminds him to stick to the plan. Staying at close range with the huge Bakole after being hurt was mind boggling. He does have an attitude, part of that is the Toledo mentality to "get their lick back" (revenge) rather than looking scared and backing off. But that would've been the smart thing to do.

You're never going to get through to the "that punch would've KOd anybody " crowd. No matter how you demonstrate that such an assertion is utterly unprovable, and completely inaccurate, they will continue to assert this as if it were true.

Those who know better, who recognize the central importance of a sturdy mandible in boxing know that guys with good chins, like Chuvalo or McCall, would walk right through those punches. Anderson didn't - proving to all but the most deluded that he has a shaky chin.

Bakole stopped Shevadzutskyi in just 3 rounds but I was very impressed by the Ukrainian's toughness in that fight. He got dropped but he ate loads of huge shots and in quick succession and finished on his feet. Even though it only lasted 3 rounds few HWs are eating that many clean shots from Bakole in quick succession and are finishing on their feet.

It was super dumb of his team to take the Bakole fight in just his 11th pro fight and it was also dumb of Team Anderson to accept Bakole as an opponent too

I don’t think his chin was bad, in fact he ate quite a few clean uppercuts without going down. I’m not sure I agree with people saying his defense was **** either tbh, between rounds 2-4 he was slipping quite frequently and moving well.

Bakole is just a monster, and had no respect for Anderson.

    How good a fighters:
    Chin
    Defense
Are two totally separate things. Oliver McCall, Tex Cobb, or George Chuvalo would have laughed at those same punches that knocked Anderson down. If you have an Iron Chin it doesn’t matter how good or bad your defense is. It’s irrelevant. Furthermore, a fighters punch resistance and defense are two totally separate things. One isn’t dependent on the other. Anderson is a Glass Jawed Fighter. No, that punch wouldn’t have KOed anyone it simply put Glass Jawed Anderson on the canvas multiple times.

    No he doesn't

He has a solid chin. To get up against Bakole many times is good going.

The definition of glass jaw has strayed way too far.

The fact that he didn’t get slept cold was impressive. Bakole is huge, that fight made me ok with bridgerweight for once.

Bakole and Miller are hard for anyone to beat if they dont come in at 330+ lbs. Heavy hands and volume with that size and frame is going to break most of current crop of heavyweights.

Bakole is no ****ing joke, regardless of his funny antics in interviews and his unserious behaviour outside the ring, this dude can put a beating on most these heavyweights.

The fight went how I said it would, Bakole walked through him. He has every shot selection in his locker.

Stupidity of this magnitude can't possibly exist.

A glass jawed fighter wouldn't get up 3x from 3 knockdowns against Bakole. You don't know what a glass jaw is. Log out, you wasted over a decade of your life talking out of your ass.
