I put the top ten American heavyweights according to BoxRec in the poll.

I know Guidry and Chaney are not very good. It shows a lack of quality heavyweights in the USA right now - there really is no one else.

Realistically I think its still Jared Anderson. Even though he was just KOd by Bakole, has defensive liabilities, and comes off slightly crazy.

Miller is probably next as he deserved a win over Ruiz, but its not like it was looking like he was a world beater.

Ruiz is talented but has eaten away his prime and isn't dedicated .

Hunters last significant fight was Povetkin and then he signed with some upstart promotion (if im remembering this right) and has dwelled in obscurity, his most notable results in the last 5 years being his draw vs Jerry Forrest and a loss that isn't a loss in a 10 round "exhibition" vs suslenkov. He is also 36. Its a shame because it looked like at one point he was going to make a real run there.

Torres Jr is half cabbage patch kid and is a KO waiting to happen, though he has an entertaining style.

Jermaine Franklin jr, blessed with a chin cursed with a lack of power. Seems like a decent guy but he has fringe contender/gatekeeper written all over him. His lack of punch though may give him some more opportunities.

Chainey is 37 and just a guy

    Guidry is 5'11 and 287.

Shaw got an opportunity on a main event on ESPN and proceeded to stink the joint out in a decision loss vs Ajagba. Then in his next fight was KOd.

Wilder is 1-4 in his last 5 and rapidly approaching 40 years old. He looks shot.

Jeremiah Milton certainly seems better than both of them.

But he's been focusing on serving as the main sparring partner for Joshua and getting guys like Nganou ready for his big fights in Saudi, rather than fighting himself.

Must be making more money doing that than fighting for Top Rank.

Sadly all our (I say our as an American) big strong Athletes are just not interested in Boxing. NFL Football absolutely fuels the sports fix in this country. They are all groomed young for mostly football and basketball.

As far as the poll I voted Miller he gave Fat Andy a pretty good spanking, score cards be damned.

One convenient thing that Americans leave out when they make their sour grapes excuses about HWs is they dont have highly paid sports leagues for basically anyone who is like MW sized or lower. Most of the rest of the world has soccer taking up the vast majority of athletes of that size. So why dont Americans completely dominate those lower weight classes either?

Michael ''The Bounty'' Hunter Jr. stopped Bear Bakole. Stopped Fat Andy in the amateurs. Gave P4P king and HW king Usyk a good fight. Controversial draw against Povetkin. Beat Kuzmin. Never been stopped or off his feet albeit the ref ruled a KD against him when he deemed the ropes kept him up against Usyk.

The Dosser is 1-4 in his last 5, 3 via stoppage, and is completely irrelevant now.

Miller was stopped by Dubois 2 fights ago and needs a 50-100lb weight advantage and every PED known to science to even be competitive in the HW division

Anderson has PTSD after surviving a bear attack and his soul is currently locked away in a box in Scotland in Bakole's trophy cabinet

    It's Hunter

The Andy Ruiz-Hunter fight was 20 years ago in the amateurs. You don't have to go back 20 years to see Ruiz knock out Joshua.

Guys like Miller (against Dubois), Ruiz drawing with Miller and Wilder losing to Zhang all came against top heavyweights.

Hunter just lost in April to Artem Suslenkov, who isn't a top heavyweight. Neither is Jerry Forrest, who beat Hunter up.

All praises to Bakole, who is on a massive role right now, knocking off guys earmarked for bigger things, like Yoka and Anderson. He's great fun to watch. A real banger.

But Hunter didn't win those fights. Bakole did.

I don't care how long ago it was Hunter paddled Fat Andy's ass and if he wants another serving he can get his fat ass out of his pantry and waddle on down to The Bounty Hunter Bistro

Miller is a big fat bum walrus who got stopped by Dubois 2 fights ago and going life and death and losing a controversial decision to a walking blob who hadn't fought in two years and who went life and death against a 4000 y/o Ortiz the last time he fought and did the same in his fight prior to that one against another shot senior citizen ie. the shot to smithereens Arreola who dropped him and nearly sparked him out cold doesn't change that.

Don't you dare mention The Dosser's name in the same sentence as ''top HWs'' I told you long ago back when you started fantasizing about him that he was a bin man and belonged in the back of the bin wagon with the rest of the trash

Hunter was clearly sick against Forrest. He even threw up his brunch (from The Bounty Hunter Bistro of course) in his corner in between rounds

Hunter vs Suslenko was a exhibition bout and Suslenko would spark out all the other US HWs ranked below King Hunter

Hunter stopped Bakole in style and whilst ranked below him for the time being he IS the current best US HW.

    Nope.

Michael Hunter this year, when he wasn't losing to Artem.

And? WTH is that supposed to prove? Mike had to take a fight with a Dosser opponent level opponent because none of the other top North American HWs wanted that smoke with him

That guy would be a top 5 win for The Dosser and the fact you attended the event and recorded that fight on your phone proves how highly you rate and fear Mike
