Might be just tactics from Turki, but really hope it's off. It's a fight that would **** me off as few others as it would keep two top p4p fighters from actual worthwhile fights. Canelo seems like he might be done with those anyway, but here's me hoping.
I'm afraid not, Brother Olu. I checked my post out of respect in case I'd made an error and everything was just as I intended it to be
If the man with the money decide he don't want it no more, it ain't happening. By the way why doesn't Turki make an offer to Canelo to fight Benavidez?
Naked greed from the immensely wealthy Alvarez may have revolted Turki, wonderful news! Make the 3/4 alphabelt holder, fight someone in his own division, and we all know who that should be!
Starting to hate Canelo no Crawford no Benavidez no Morrell no Light Heavyweights no one can ever look good enough or be good enough to get a fight with him so he'll just fight nobodies as he says all this with yet another herpes breakout on his lower lip
Biggest main events he put together that wasn't the obvious Usyk-Fury unification? Was it Anthony Joshua-Otto Wallin (a stinker)? Or Crawford-Mardimov (another stinker)? Or Fury-Ngannou (another stinker)? Or Ngannou-Joshua ... another stinker? Or shot Wilder vs 70-pounds heavier Zhang? Another stinker. Who'd he say he was going to focus on now? Devin Haney? Shakur Stevenson? Anderson again? Everyone's falling all over him because he pays the most right now. Fans are happy we're seeing unifications we called for. Like I said, though, his matchmaking skills aren't the best. I didn't see Madrimov as someone he wants to promote again. 10-1. Is he done at the big table? Turki doesn't seem too intersted anymore. Tank and Canelo aren't interested in fighting for him. So, who is he going to match Stevenson and Haney against? Each other? Can we vote on the most boring title fight ever signed before the guys step in the ring? Grooming talent doesn't appear to be in this guy's wheelhouse. I think a lot of fighters are going to jump at the first big purse they are offered, and then get tossed aside. This Turki guy isn't a savior. The bad part is he's gobbling up all the promoters, too, so when a fighter gets discarded, there won't be options for him like there were in the past - when you could just go to another promoter. How long before promoters won't invest in guys if Turki isn't interested in putting them on his cards?
Which was the best fight available? Was it Anthony Joshua-Otto Wallin (a stinker)? Or Crawford-Mardimov (another stinker)? Or Fury-Ngannou (another stinker)? Or Ngannou-Joshua ... another stinker? Or shot Wilder vs 70-pounds heavier Zhang? Another stinker. What are his "best fights available" main events that weren't the obvious unifications? I'm thankful for the unifications. Everyone is. But people are already seeing where this is going with this guy. This whole scene has "Dennis Rodman telling Kim Jong Un he's a great basketball player" vibes.
Good. Totally unrealistic fight that was never going to make sense for both fighters. Hopefully Turki has also given up any plans for Tank vs Inoue. Needs to focus on making Tank vs Loma or Bud vs Boots happen.
