Dave Allen thinks Martin Bakole is the best heavyweight in the world

Of course we don't know, for me I just think Bakole is the best positioned

 

He's quite well positioned, granted - especially if he keeps improving.

I just value provenness enough that I'm not convinced yet that he'll go all the way.

 

No one should be convinced. Everyone is flawed in their own way so it could be a free for all.

 

Question is will he get the opportunities. I thought after beating Yoka he'd push on and get more opportunities but it took 2 years for him to again be put on a card with a higher profile fighter. Hopefully he gets a chance to prove himself against some better opposition, it's long overdue.

 

Bakole is clearly a top ten heavyweight, but I don't believe he beats Usyk or Fury, at least not until they slow down with advancing age.

 

Dave Allen's wrong. Bakole is a tough out, but if he can dance circles around Joshua and Fury he can dance circles around Bakole.

Even if Bakole caught him once in sparring, which has been disputed, you're talking about a random afternoon with nothing at stake, not a championship fight.

Nah. Usyk must have cracked Allen even harder than we thought in sparring. After Usyk retires I think Fury will be the best HW for at least two or three more years. Then Jalolov will be the top guy for a bit after that. Both box up Bakole pretty good imo. But Zhang could surprise a lot of people. Maybe another 2nd career Foreman.

 

As Bakole is only 31, he will be a factor going forward. Nobody's getting an easy fight with him, that's for sure.

There’s plenty of great fighters who he will never get on his resume because A he’s not active enough and B he would get beat by a lot of these names - Ajagba, Sanchez, Ortiz, Bakole, Kabayel, Parker, Ruiz, Zhang, Hrgovic, Anderson, Demirezen, Makhmadov, Pulev, Whyte list goes on and on and on
