Martin Bakole Ilunga vs Joe Frazier

I expected it.

 

I genuinely can’t tell if you and others are seriously whining about a fantasy fight. Put up an argument have fun with it, it’s an interesting proposition.

 

In this case I think Martin despite being so much bigger doesn’t neutralise the fight the way a guy like a Lennox could, just leaning in on Frazier. Martin is busy (which Frazier liked) marches straight at you throwing - I can see this being hard fought for JF if he doesn’t have the power to hurt MB or he gets smothered inside - I’m not sure Martin would try to smother Joe it doesn’t seem in his nature, I can see Joe winning but the size difference is an interesting situation to workout in your head.

 

You weren't being serious? You actually voted for him to beat Frazier, voted for him to beat Joe Louis and no doubt voted for him to beat Floyd Patterson.

 

lol What I want to know is, how he knew Magoo was being sarcastic then questioned how I could possibly know the same thing.

Hunter weighed 213 lbs vs Bakole, didn't he? I think Frazier beats him. Maybe Bakole could do well vs the young green Frazier that was floored by Bonavena. But peak Frazier? Nah. Hard to hit cleanly unless you are Foreman. Frazier's stamina and relentless left hook is too much.

 

Fair enough lad, I respect that. Posters like yourself and Cross Trainer I would say tend to have a "the modern way is the best approach" in boxing. Correct me if I'm wrong.

What I think a lot of people tend to overlook is the simple question....who is the better fighter?!

Yes Bakole has size advantage and has decent power. But in terms of fighting ability, heart, courage and chin....let alone skills. He is nothing on a top ten heavy of all time in Joe Frazier.

 

The irony of bringing up the Hunter fight as if nothing changed since then and then talking about a green Frazier.

 

I favour the old boxers in near every post I’ve written. I’ve said on more than one occasion Moore would beat Evander, Dempsey could beat Ali - I don’t really have a bias towards any era I just state who I think would win honestly.

 

Just by being here long enough to know posters and their trends is about the full extent of it. If choklab came out and said Sonny Liston is the greatest H2H heavyweight ever, well...........and if Swag came out and said he'd favor Mike Tyson over Cleveland Williams..........you just know!!!!
