Canelo fighting Berlanga is actually better and more competitive than fighting Crawford at 168, period.

 

It may have been explained already, but is there a reason why Bud and Canelo can't meet at Middleweight? Why does Bud have to make the big jump, it's not like titles are gonna matter to this one

 

Canelo hasn't made Middleweight in 5 years. He obviously can't make Middleweight anymore. And of course titles matter in a fight of this magnitude.

 

Probably mad he didn't get his way since he's used to getting it.

 

Well, the bridge has been burnt. Turki will never work with Canelo and Canelo will never work with Turki after this.

 

Canelo dragged Khan up to fight for the MW title.
He delayed/aged GGG at least twice.
He would only fight an over-the-hill Kovalev on a short turn around with a hydration clause.
He tried to drain 40yr old Jack

What else do you need to know about how he goes about things?

 

He's right but it looks to me there is too much butt-licking and shoeshining around this dude, making promoters bending whenever he walks.

Clelenolose, Stank and Inoue didn't take the wrong decision by not acceptin' his offers...

 

Only boxing fans have a right to talk like this about Canelo. Who does this guy think he is?

Canelo had never fought at 160 yet. DLH advised him to be cautious and wait.

DLH put in the rehydration clause. Still no catchweight and Kovalev had never been known to rehydrate much so the rehydration clause in this case was essentially a non-factor.

According to Badou Jack. Obviously that whole idea was ridiculous, not gonna defend that, but at the same time we have people asking for Canelo to go down to Middleweight to meet Bud despite the fact that he hasn't made Middleweight in 5 years. Badou Jack previously fought at Light Heavyweight and from what it sounds like they were asking if Jack could meet him at 180 lbs. Jack had been seen as essentially a blown up Light Heavyweight who had been fighting at Cruiser.

Trying to find ways to make fights happen by discussing weight compromises is part of the negotiating process. The thing to remember is that despite all these talking points, he hasn't actually drained anyone throughout his career. The DLH influence and him trying to give Canelo advantages was certainly an albatross, but the Jack situation notwithstanding, he really hasn't made unfair demands to any of his opponents.

 

He has more money than common sense. This was the guy that gave a boxer with zero professional fights a shot at Fury. Just because he can.

 

Mismatch. Milkshake has got his feelings hurt. Getting a bit too biased & promoter like for my liking. You don't call out fighters on behalf of other fighters mate. They can make their moves themselves. I have my issues with Canelo but the guys fought a who's who.. so this guy is talking ****..

 

He's right. Ever since Canelo lost to Bivol he's avoided the toughest tests and the Saudi boxing is all about the best fighting each other regardless of who wins and who loses.

It's fine though, boxing will on without Canelo.

Tbf to Canelo from 2012 to 2022 he fought the best out there time and time again and for a long while he delivered, regardless of how close fights were he was a worthy face of boxing. He sought out tough fights consistently.

But in boxing we live in the moment and right now he's old news until he gets that Saudi hype about him.

But who's anyone to question Turki and his boxing wisdom, dude probably thinks Canelo Bam is harder than Canelo Berlanga/Skull/Munguia etc.

 

That's fair, and I would agree that since Bivol he hasn't fought the absolute best he could have fought, if that means Benavidez, or moving up to 175 to fight a Bivol rematch (in fairness he tried) or a Beterbiev (in fairness he's been injured).

But he hasn't fought bad fighters, Munguia was a tough test. So your criticisms are fair but to act like Bivol did something to him, I mean maybe it brought him down to earth a bit and made him a bit more risk averse, but that's not unreasonable. He took a risk and he failed, it's normal that since he hasn't taken a risk like that. Since then he's been defending his titles against mandatories. There's nothing wrong with that. He loses a close fight to Bivol and some fans are acting like their hair's on fire ever since. People just love to exaggerate everything as it pertains to Canelo.

Nothing's changed about Canelo since Bivol. He's the same dominant 168-lb he was before.
