That's fair. I have him #1 myself but it's not a list I really get bogged down on - or rather I consider him the best boxer around currently all things considered.

I would agree that Bud is the best boxer around right now, and if he, Usyk & Inoue were the same size, I would pick Crawford to win decisions over them.

As far as pound for pound #1, I suppose I agree with the majority that it is Usyk, but it could easily be one of the other two.

I think Mayweather and Pac beat Crawford, but I would bet on Bud over Maidana and Cotto.

Against 147 pac and floyd yes. Against prime pac and floyd, nowhere near them. No one in todays scene is anywhere near them. People spend years arguing over who’s better instead of admiring both and now there’s no one near as good. Canelo, Loma, Crawford, Tank are all below them and by car.

Tank, Inuoe and Usyk have all not utterly crushed their competition occasionally. Maybe Crawford has found his size ceiling. Or maybe Madrimov is really ****ing good. Likely some combination of these two things. It was a very good fight. Were you not entertained?

    Seems kinda' petty...

saying he beat him comfortably all of their fights is crazy. Even people that don't like pac agree that there was no "comfortable win" in the first 3 fights. Pac is awkward and much faster and more durable than anyone crawford has fought. We saw how awkardness, footwork, and angles gave crawford trouble when he fought porter and madrimov. I'm sorry but he dosen't win against a prime pac when many people had porter up on the scorecards before the stoppage. Though i can also see how bud also gives pac trouble (counterpunching) but I believe pac being more explosive, awkward, and having fought tougher fights gives him the edge.

Bud primed at 147lbs where he never required a judge so I'd use that weight class for his imaginary fights. And I favor him over nearly all those guys mentioned in the post I responded to. Skill for skill I really don't see how Bud is far behind them and I won't argue much about who is greater, their careers are done and his is ongoing, his story is still being written. He could yet do something for a 3rd time that neither could do once :)

I have no qualms over any of the 3 being #1, and actually since it's a fairly imaginary title that can't quite be fought for and the criteria changes from person to person and from situation to situation I wouldn't even have an issue if they were 1a, 1b, 1c, genuinely just happy I've been around to watch them go about business quietly, letting their skills talk in the ring.

Amen to that! I'm not the type that has lists I just sort of guesstimate whenever I participate in a ranking Pole or something like that.

And yes I am definitely thankful for this year in boxing insofar as good fights being made, it's almost nearly half as good as it used to be in the old days LOL. I'm a miserable old Rose tinted glasses kind of guy haha.

Yeah Mads is a very difficult style. Almost like a spoiler.
He did well to not fight in a way that suited Crawford.

I guess it depends on what you consider more impressive

Fighter A - moves up in weight and is fighting opponents way bigger, heavier and often longer than them

Won and unified all their belts in their opponent's backyards on a deck stacked against them sans once when they won their last belt on 'neutral' soil which to be fair isn't exactly neutral because the host of the event is business partners with their opponent's promoter and was openly cheerleading for fighter A's opponent who was already the recipient of a highly controversial decision in their previous bout over there

Has never had home advantage in any of their world title fights sans one which wasn't even in their country

Who has had a whopping 2 home officials in all of their world title bouts and fights at the world level combined

Has fought a murderer's row of big punchers, KO artists, and a whole bunch of the hardest punchers in the sport and I mean P4P hardest not just literally the hardest, their size, bigger and way bigger

    vs

Fighter B - who was gigantic for their 1st weight, massive for their 2nd, very big for their 3rd, and weighed more for their debut in their 4th than their career opponent at that weight did

Has very often been the much bigger or bigger man, rarely the smaller one, and likely never much smaller

Has fought in their home country in 40 of their 41 fights

Won all their world titles in their home country on a deck stacked in their favour sans once, meaning all their foreign opponents brought their titles to them, including when fighter B was the challenger x 2

Unified all their world titles at home

Has never defended any of their world titles in their opponent's country

Has had a scandalous amount of home refs and judges, often having a full set of 4 even for world title fights vs foreigners

And has barely fought any legit punchers and KO artists their size, let alone ones bigger or way bigger

His career is still going but there’s not much left. At the end of the day most unbiased people rate Floyd and Pac in the top 30 in an atg list. Bud might not be top 100 in a lot of peoples. 147 is his best weight but what were his top 3 wins? It would probably be hard to name 10 fighters to beat Pac and Floyd in their best weights, not so much for Crawford.

With early weigh ins and rehydration Hearns, Leonard, and Robinson could fight as low as 130 and maybe even 126.

Duran could fight Pacquiao at 122 and rehydrate to 140 plus

Crawford isn't Tank. I think we can agree completely on that.

You brought up some of the best fighters ever and they would not be heavy favorites against Pac or Floyd. Can’t say about robinson but Duran would probably be 50/50. If you put those guys against Crawford he would be a heavy underdog.
