Seniors' opponent, Khalokov of Uzbekistan, was pure class. The footwork. The movement. The fast hands. The fitness. The experience of nearly 100 fights. He's a shoe-in for the gold IMO and credit to Charlie for giving it everything.

Caitlin's first round was terrific but she just couldn't sustain it and even though she threw caution to the wind until the final bell, her legs were gone in the last. Very respectable performance and not that much in it.

 

Thanks to a Brisbane based company called Entain Venues, DAZN PPV fights will be shown around Australia from now on in pubs and clubs.

The recent Huni vs Pilcher bout was shown in over 150 venues and was the pilot for this. That number will grow which is a great thing for fight fans.

In my experience showing boxing in the ale houses isn't always the brightest of ideas , I remember during the 90's watching boxing from the states at 4am after a night out clubbing in some dingy snooker halls and it seldom ended well .

 

Thanks. Watching boxing in Australian pubs is great, especially if there's a pool table or two at hand as well.
Used to watch boxing at a snooker hall in Seoul too.

No surprise whatsoever when Khalilov - who beat Charlie Senior in the semi final - easily won the Gold Medal.

The super impressive Khalokov, won all 4 of his bouts by unanimous decision.

 

It's great meeting new, old boxing heads at big fights in pubs. All kinds of characters dip in and out of the scene. Old fighters trainers or boxing fans. Way better than your average punter who wants to talk Jake Paul or Conor McGregor
