Boxer list should be the number 2 site. Theres work to be done there but its not an astronomical amount of work that'd need to be done to get it to boxer rec level. It has some obscure info boxer rec doesn't have on old belts. But its very touch and go in this regard. The bigger issue is boxing recs more complicated features like the scoring saying all the fights on the card etc.
So long as boxrec stays a library and stops trying to be political, I support that too. But if a ranking system tries to be political they can gtfo
All Fight Fax needs to do is copy over their database of fights. It's a lot but really if Boxrec isn't going to keep WBA records and Fight Fax is then ... ya know ... all they gotta do is build the database and jango, no one uses Boxrec anymore. Why would you?
The title isn't there anymore on the records. However if you go on the profiles of say Antonio Cervantes. He is still as listed as a two time WBA champion. I guess boxrec were too lazy to indivually remove each reign from every fighter on the website.
Just looked, wba is gone other than the wiki's that specifically pertain to those title matches. Boxrec is severely overstepping theie bounds here, they are a library. If they are going to upheld themselves as such, then they should not be politically motivated.
Beyond funny. Ridiculous. For folks who used boxrec for research, it's right out of 1984, a rewrite of boxing history. Regardless of WBA's shameful shenanigans of late, they were THE sanctioning body for many decades. For Boxrec to simply ignore the WBA title retroactively, renders them even less credible than the recent WBA itself. Your example of Duran is just one of the more striking examples of this lunacy.
I for one understand if they no longer want to recognize the WBA, which is fine. But it´s absolutely ridiculous that they completely scrapped the history from their site.
