These names have come up in the past as guys that Uysk has been frequently compared to. Others have done the threads against the first-tier greats, let's do one against the rest.

To clarify, you are checking a box if you believe that Usyk wins the fight. Undoubtedly, there will be some where you might say he splits a series, or something, but this is a hard yes or no.

    Thanks,

    Max Baer
    Max Schmeling
    Michael Moorer
    Michael Spinks
    Ike Ibeabuchi
    David Haye
    Sacha Povetkin
    Corrie Sanders
    Tim Witherspoon
    Chris Byrd

Boy that’s tough if you want a hard yes or no. I’ll have to weigh it.

Tim is the only one I see possibly splitting decisions with Usyk.

Since the poll doesn't allow for sub-options, it kind of has to be that way.

I would love it if I could have 30 options and say...

    Beats Spinks...
    Splits Spinks...

I think he beats all of them with the possible exception of Ibeabuchi since Ike was such a brute and had high work rate and wouldn't be deterred in moving forward and cutting the ring. Ike had a cast iron jaw and unlike Fury or Joshua who were reluctant to come forward because Usyk kept hurting them with left hands. But Ike is unlikely to back off. Usyk would have to fight a flawless fight to win. I think its a 50-50 fight.

Witherspoon could give him a hard fight but Tim wasn't exactly a high output fighter. Usyk has excellent work rate. My guess is Usyk's work rate would take over late in the fight and decision him. Usyk is a favourite here though i don't count Witherspoon out.

Outside of that, i don't see him losing to anyone. I love Schmeling and perhaps his counter right could stun Usyk a few times. But Usyk is much bigger, he is faster and he hits hard enough to hurt Max. I think Usyk stops him late or decisions him.

None of the other guys have a chance.

I agree that Ike would be the toughest, and add that he uniquely showed that he can be great against a slick southpaw. But Byrd ain't Usyk, and I don't think Uysk would have to be flawless to win, just do what he does and use angles and defense to land more punches.

But yeah, that one is a fight!

Thing that makes Ike so dangerous for Usyk is how he ate Tua's left hooks and kept moving forward. Usyk throws a powerful and underrated southpaw straight left. But is that straight left more powerful than Tua's orthodox left hook? I don't think so. Its more versatile and perhaps harder to predict but in terms of sheer power, Tua has him beat.

I agree that Usyk is better than Byrd. Byrd made the mistake of trying to fight on the inside with Ike and that was a disaster of epic proportions. Usyk moves better than Byrd, doesn't stand in the pocket for long periods, and Usyk hits harder than Byrd so its more difficult to cut the ring vs Usyk. Still, Ike can match Usyk's workrate, something neither Fury or Joshua could do. Ike being a similar height also means he can target Usyk's body more effectively than Joshua or Fury.

I favour Usyk ever so slightly to eek out a decision but i think it would be his toughest fight. Stylistically, the advantages he has over big super heavies don't translate to fighting a iron jawed high work rate guy like Ike.

I mean I don't disagree with anything you say. The only thing I add is that a lot of this goes both ways. Ike can match Usyk's output, but Usyk is one of the few that is going to match Ike's. Usyk won't hurt Ike, but with his iron chin, he can take Ike's punches a hell of a lot better.

This would have been a good one.

Usyk-Moorer would be interesting. Moorer could really hit but Usyk has sharper better footwork. I think MM would get frustrated after 6 rounds, try and go on the attack and Usyk would start picking him apart. Usyk UD 12 after a exciting contest.

Usyk beats them all I think only Ike could give him a challenging fight but Ike isn't proven enough for me to favor him over Usyk

Schmeling Spinks and Ike are capable of beating him IMO

I would say Ibeabuchi because hes one of the few Heavyweights on that list that could deal with Usyk's output and wouldn't gas.

Hes also an aggressive fighter with good power and a good chin and has experience dealing with a world class Southpaw in Chris Byrd.
