Who said Povetkin had a great resume? The point is neither does Usyk and Usyk has only had 5 or 6 bouts at heavyweight. Usyk losing to a prime Wlad is more impressive than Usyk beating a old broken down Fury.

 

Yet Povetkin knocked out David Price who is bigger than Fury lol and Usyk is good at what? Running? Throwing slapping arm punches? Being extremely inaccurate?

 

You mean how Usyk soundly boxed Chisora who is vastly inferior to Povetkin in every way? Wait Usyk barely beat Chisora.

 

Kuzmin losing to Hunter doesn't mean he doesn't punch harder than him. Bakole couldn't take a cruisers power yet he has taken the power of genuine heavies since.

my point is Usyk's best wins are FAR better than Povetkin's wins yet according to you Usyk loses because he's supposedly unproven despite the fact that he's beaten two of the best heavies of the 21st century so far. If you seriously think Usyk hasn't done enough to be proven "elite" then sure, whatever. but what exactly did Povetkin do to convince you that he wins???

Come on man. so Usyk losing a wide 12-0 UD to Klitschko would be more impressive than beating the undefeated man who dethroned Klitschko (Usyk is older than Fury mind you).

 

Povetkin barely beat 210 lbs Huck and got hurt badly by him. We can do this with everyone.

Usyk wouldn't even be a top 100 cruiser weight in the 1990s. I can't imagine somebody being impressed if a prime Foreman, Lewis, Bowe, Holyfield. Tyson etc struggled to beat a 40 year old Chisora, Dubois, Witherspoon, Joshua and Fury.

Chisora has 10 plus losses and was destroyed by David Haye years ago. But yeah Usyk barely beating him makes him a legend. Joshau was destroyed by Andy Ruiz. I guess Ruiz is a legend now too right? Dubois was destroyed by Joyce. Is Joyce a legend? Dubois was almost stopped by Kevin Lerena a guy who isn't a big puncher. Tyson Fury was knocked down numerous times by Wilder, was dropped by Nevin Pajkic and Steve Cunnigham. But Usyk beating him means something? Who did Tyson Fury beat to become this great? Wait old Wlad and Deontay Wilder a fighter everybody says was horrible until it benefits their point.

Povetkin has very sneaky style that can't be challenged by weak HW's of today

 

Povetkin was never great. He was a steroid cheat. But he was still better than Usyk and fought better guys at heavyweight than Usyk fought. Usyk is becoming the most overrated fighter in any weight class in the history of boxing. The guy moved up to heavyweight beat Chazz WItherspoon and struggled to beat a faded Chisora. Some how that got him a title shot against a mentally damaged Joshua who just got knocked out by Ruiz.

He beats Joshau but who did Joshua ever beat to become this great? The funny thing is with you people is how you flip flop to bit your agenda. You will flat out state that Joshua is a slow robotic body builder. Then you will flip and say he is great because Usyk beat him to boost Usyk up. Anyway Usyk then beat Daniel Dubois. The guy who so bad he lost to slow Joe Joyce and then struggled to beat Kevin Lerena. Some how that got him a title shot against Usyk. Then Usyk beat Fury. A guy who is pushing 40 and best win to this day was against a 40 year old Wlad in a fight where Fury didn't look remotely impressive. Fury was losing to Steve Cunningham a cruiser weight, getting beat around the ring and dropped only to win by using his arms to fame Steve which is illegal by the way.

But some how this makes Usyk a ATG at heavyweight. A guy who can't land a high percentage of his punches no matter who he fights. A guy who can't land a decent amount of punches no matter who he faces. Usyk is lucky to be in such a joke era for heavyweights. He would of never won any title at heavyweight in the 70's to 2000's.

 

Lewis lost to McCall and Rahman, Tyson lost to Douglas. Those guys had really bad losses that Usyk has managed to avoid thus far.

If his competition sucks at least he's not losing to them like Tyson and Lewis

I'd give him a chance against Usyk, actually. Favour Usyk, but Povetkin might be a bad matchup.
Usyk got nailed heavily by a Fury uppercut and thought that god saved him from going down. That tells you how much trouble he was in.
Povetkin is very good at uppercuts and more accurate than Fury. Price was surprised how accurate Povetkin was, he mentioned this. It makes sense because Povetkin is only just over 6ft, so has better coordination than the SHW's.
It's not just about the uppercut, Povetkin can throw all kinds of stuff and Usyk would be more in the strike zone.
Povetkin would be dangerous and Usyk would struggle to hurt him probably.

 

Usyk's 2nd fight at heavyweight against the most careless come forward fighter we've seen in years. Povetkin doesn't have that style + Usyk is a far more experienced operator at HW now
