The top (current) American HW's are Andy, Miller, Hunter, Anderson, Franklin and probably still technically Wilder.

I wouldn't say any of those men don't have dog in em, they all do. Regardless of my like or dislike of some of them. Even Anderson, yeah he got stopped by Bakole, but he was stopped on his feet after getting hit early with some **** that he should've went out on his back and just stayed there, he still got up. That right there is dog. Chin was gone and he was still firing back. None of those men can you point to an instance where they bowed out easily.

    original question:
If they fought next month, Chisora.
If they fought 3 years ago, Wilder would've melted him. I don't like Wilder, but let's be honest Chisora would've gotten clipped very hard. Wilder's hands were too fast. It would've just been a bad matchup for him IMO

I don't like the way Wilder held his belt hostage and especially didn't like the talk of wanting a body... But he was entertaining enough as a Twiglet-Butterbean sideshow act.

In total honesty "IF" Wilder managed to get the time and space to swing his full power bomb, he'd probably have knocked Chisora out - talk of ATG power is exaggerated, but Chisora was durable rather than cast iron.

But it's a huge "IF" - Chisora's style would've put Wilder on the backfoot where he's totally ineffective... And just as importantly, if Wilder took some of Chisora's overhand rights he'd have been knocked out.

If it's a particularly bad matchup for either man, IMHO it's Wilder that would come off worst stylistically.

I agree that Wilder's power was overrated somewhat but I don't dispute it. he threw two of the shortest right hands I've ever seen a HW melt someone with, now it was 2 guys who weren't known for chins, but still. I could see Chisora in his chest until Wilder lands something. And to me that is the unfortunate thing, eventually Wilder always lands (bar his last 2 fights)

    Equally...

Besides Fury, who was both rusty and gassed when he got caught in #1, and sloppy in #3... Chisora in his prime was better than anyone Wilder beat.

The biggest question would be who was knocked out first - and given Wilder wasn't super durable and Chisora always landed plenty in the early rounds (and his style would make it difficult for Wilder to find the time and space he needed)... Well, I reckon Chisora would've got it done, always have done.

Current day Chisora does not have the stamina to put anyone on the backfoot for a protracted period of time; he may manage to do it for a few rounds before reverting to laying on the ropes throwing occasional overhand rights.

I always said a confident Joshua could have got 'prime' Wilder out of there in dominating fashion. Wilder's skills were so lacking so I would haven't been a bit surprised if it ended up looking like the Ngannou fight.

For a long time though it was trendy on here to act like Joshua was the worst heavyweight in the division and Wilder was this destructive force that couldn't be contained. Both were massively wrong.

In 2024, Chisora smashes him. He’s a psychopathic warrior who loves violence. Whereas Wilder is pretty much done with the sport, I only see him returning for a massive payday (maybe as an easy touch for Joshua).

Anyhow Chisora’s style would have always been at least a little problematic for Wilder.

Completely agree he would just sit inside and tare him apart with brutal body shots and some naughty uppercuts, wilder wouldn’t have the range to throw the haymaker.

Chisora would quite obviously be KO'd cold by Wilder before Wilder got old. Look what Haye did to Chisora as soon as he landed.
Do people really think Wilder doesn't hit at least as hard as Haye and has at least the same chin? The reason Chisora came unstuck against Haye was also the big speed difference. And Wilder also has faster hands than Chisora.

Almost certainly Chisora would barge forward and Wilder would bomb him out.

These days Wilder could still KO him probably but maybe not. Parker and Zhang also have more skills than Chisora too, so it's not really clear how this would play out now. I really wouldn't want to bet on it.

There is talk about Wilder continuing his career.

The Chisora fight is for sure the best option for him, one he can win.

Dillian White is another option that would get the fans excited. It would be my pick.

He better stay away from Parker, Usyk, Zhang, Dubois, Fury, Hrgovic, Bakole.

Joshua is not really exciting right now, maybe after a solid win.

    Can he beat Kabayel?

Joe Joyce is another option that´s interesting, but dangerous for this version of Wilder.

Jarrell Miller is kind of interesting as well. Maybe Andy Ruiz, J. Anderson.

There is Wallin and F. Sanchez as options as well.

I think Miller would give him a lot of problems being a pressure fighter tbh. Dillian Whyte would probably be a more appropriate match up at this stage.

Chisora doesn’t get affected mentally by losses, which is 90% of why fighter’s sometimes are the same after, timing is everything in boxing, and Wilder’s desire has completely gone and Chisora still has that.
    Chisora beats him now.
