Both this & the blunt illogical nature of, “I can type what I want,” gave me a solid laugh. Top stuff.

Looking beatable against Quarry? Did Quarry win a single round in their two fights?

Ali had the speed and the slickness. But I don't think that would be enough against Wlad's technical approach and his sheer size and power. Klitschko had one of the best jabs ever at heavyweight and he used it to control the small guys like Ali. Ali's famous flurry and grab is going to be up against Wlad's outrageous jab n grab and in this scenario I think "Dr Octopus" comes out on top. He's just too bloody big and strong. I think that his technical approach and size would trump Ali's speed. Ali's lack of power is also a big minus here. Wlad's chin could be cracked but not by a light hitter like Ali. I think that once Ali stopped dancing about - and he nearly always did - Wlad would show him that there needs to be a super-heavyweight division.

In Quarry 1, he mostly jabbed and clinched. It wasn't as bad as the other fights I listed though.

Good to know that you can always predict NoNeck's opinion before even reading any part of the thread. Lol

You really think Ali had a lack of power? He wasn’t Ernie Shavers but when he put his back into it he could knock you on your ass.

I'm sure he could knock me on my ass. I very much doubt he'd get anywhere against Wlad.

I think Ali had underrated power. Not one punch but he could punch. Look at the lead right hands that were snapping Foreman's head back from round 1. Fast, hard and accurate. In round 5, Ali backed up the iron jawed Foreman with powerful punches.

Wlad spent his title reign fighting very mediocre guys. Ali had the speed to cause him issues. On the other hand, if the refs allow Wlad to clinch and grab and push with impunity, Wlad will be hard to beat. But if we get decent refs that won't allow it, i could see Ali outspeeding Wlad and winning a close decision. Ali's lead right and fast combos will cause Wlad issues. On the other hand, Wlad's jab will cause Ali lots of issues as well as his big left hook.

Ali will make Wlad miss more than other guys could and he can also fight at a higher work rate than Wlad's opponents generally could. We are not looking at a blown up middle here in Byrd who was carrying an extra 20 lbs above his natural weight. We are talking about Ali who is lean, mean and faster.

Close fight. I say its 50-50 and really depends on the refs. German refs? Yeah Wlad probably wins. Decent refs? I lean towards Ali.

Usyk was able to box circles around Wlad during sparrings, I don't see why you say Ali had no chance.

Wlad is not invincible. I don't even have him in my top 10, barely in my top 20. I think a lot of ATGs smaller than him would have their way with him. People are in love with size, not quality.

I think that you need to set your feet to punch hard and that you need a kinetic chain to really twist your whole body into it. When Ali is running about the ring trying to be speedy Gonzales he's not setting his feet and he's not punching with authority. Wlad on the other hand has crushing power because when he does sit down on his punches he moves guys even bigger than him.

Ali has one chance and that's to be faster than a speeding bullet all night long. I don't think he can do it.
