I wouldn’t put it past Floyd to find a way to pot shot and cover up his way to a win on points against a larger man who was more of a cruder brawler than a technical fencer.

any sane person would have to bet on Marciano, but… there’s some world in which Floyd runs and pot shots his way to an ugly split decision.

I wouldn't be surprised if that is what happened, but I think Canelo is a much better boxer than RM. The only thing that would make me pause in taking FMJ is that RM would have about 30 pounds on him. If I remember, Canelo had a re-hydration clause and couldn't weigh over a certain amount in the ring? The fight would probably be decided by whether RM's weight advantage would allow him to push through FMJ's defense. If he could RM might over power him. If RM can not, I think FMJ would see RM's punches from a long way off and not get hit much, while countering and hitting RM almost at will on the inside with quicker, shorter punches. Punching and missing is tiring and getting hit repeatedly and not being able to stop it is too.

FMJ might get a few knockdowns for extra points along the way catching RM as he is crossing his back foot and being off balance. Even if he's not hurt, getting knocked down costs points.

 

Even with a primed nuke in each glove Floyd wouldn't beat Rocky.
