Knockout CP Freshmart vs Alex Winwood is set for September 7th

    Boxing's longest reigning champion is back, and in a surprising match up to that matter. The fight will be in Australia. Second time Knockout has travelled outside of Thailand to defend his title, first being against Xiong in China. Winwood was supposed to face Luis Castillo and later Joey Canoy in an final eliminator for the WBC belt, but both got canned. Seems like Winwood's team are very confident in their charge to let him face arguably the most experienced of the strawweight champions. Than again Knockout's last fight was 2 years ago, so it seems like a good deal to make this fight.

    I had almost assumed Decision CP Freshmart had retired, the dude had just vanished off the face of the earth. A lot of Thais will fight journeymen with losing records in between big fights to keep active but Decision didn’t even do that. Wonder how much he’ll have left at 33. If he’s not shot and rusty and manages to pull off the win here, it’d put him in a good place to unify with Melvin Jerusalem.

    Finally the cameback of Niyomtrong! Hope it's not too late for him, Alex Winwood is a serious prospect and one of the most dangerous in Minimumweight.

    CP Freshmeat has been world champ for nearly a decade & has made 15 title defences. Will be good to see him fighting on the world stage.

    Edit - the fight's in Perth. He'll be fighting At World's End.
