There are 4+ ATG fighters operating and they all have at least 1 more fight in them:

    Usyk
    Inoue
    Crawford
    Beterbiev (and/or Bivol)

These 4 have all demonstrated unparalleled dominance in divisions theyve fought. Some people get caught up in history and put classic fighters on pedestals as if theyre immortal. The top three of Usyk, Inoue, and Crawford have alrdy joined ATG ranks. Those three would compete with ANY fighter in history and they would've beaten (and lost to) some of the best.

Since 2000 we've had good fortune in watching some true ATG operators. Wlad, Vitali, Floyd, Manny, BHop, DLH, RJJ, JMM, Calzaghe...add Bud, Usyk, and Inoue to that group.

Its a special time in boxing when you can watch some of the best to EVER do it and we have at least 1 more fight from the top three. These moments are why we follow the sport.

And dont get it twisted, the aforementioned guys would be live versus some of those historical greats...and they'd beat some and lose some. NOBODY runs the ATG gauntlet unscathed.

They're greats but the issue is fighters like Crawford, Inoue, haven't got great rivals to go up against.

For example imagine Inoue in the Pacquiao, Marquez, Barrera, Morales, era.

Imagine Crawford in the ODLH, Trinidad, Quartey, Mosley, Vargas, Wright, era.

Beterbiev is being plagued by injuries and is already at the end of his career and that may stop him from having his defining fight vs Bivol hopefully not.

I think Usyk has already pretty much done everything hes needed to and beat his two biggest rivals with considerable weight disadvantages in Joshua, Fury, in the best Heavyweight era since in the 90s.

Inoue's best win is vs a late 30s Donaire who already had multiple losses it's a pity he missed out on Gonzalez, Estrada, etc.

Crawford's fight vs Spence should've been made alot sooner and the inactivity and car crashes took some shine of the fight for me which is a pity.

Berterbiev is shot past it now, them injuries won't heal themselves. Bivol fight still worth it but both will retire off it.
Usyk will retire this year along with Fury
Crawford sucks and has beat nobody and might as well retire
    Canelo is a bum
Inoue is a small japanese child

    This era is over

The era of Daniel Dubious is upon us when he chins the bodybuilder AJ next month.

I would say a silver era. To me is is the third best heavyweight era, and like you say, its got some other stars.

This can't be a golden era, there are nowhere near enough ATG's currently campaigning. And neither Bivol nor Beterbiev are ATGs by any stretch of the imagination. Canelo has a good argument to be considered one. but after him and then the already mentioned Inoue, Crawford and Usyk, there's no one else that could even be possibly mentioned other than Nonito (who's technically still active) and Roman (who is also technically still active). But those two are shades of their former glory.

So that's 6 ATG's that are active (only 4 still elite) in 17 divisions.............

You can't blame boxers for 'lack of competition'

It's not something they have control over.

All they can do is beat their peers and is as dominant fashion as possible - whether by KO or by schooling them.

All they have to do is win as dominantly as possible and history will judge them.

That's been the problem. A decent supply of talent but each one gets to live in his own weight division or hide behind a particular sanctioning body so there's so no need to fight.

ROFLMAO Boxing ,to the casual fan is second to the WWE Pro Wrestling they follow every minute of that SPORTS ENTERTAINMENT as gospel . Two of their heroes Floyd & Canelo would have never made it without the blatant " help " both legal & illegal that they & others like them received.

Calzaghe is not an ATG. He fought bums, then Mikkel Kessler (yep, that's his shining prime win), then barely made it past two 40 year olds. Please don't mention him along side the others.

I only arguably see one in that list and it's Usyk.

Inoue would certainly be able to compete with any of Pacquiao, morales, Barrera, jmm, in their primes or when they fought eachother, and the fact that would be in his 6th weight class from the beginning of his career is proof enough he's an all time fighter.

There’s always awesome stuff happening and great fighters, people just typically focus on the negative.

As you mentioned yourself, before that we had Floyd, Pac, Wladimir, Calzaghe, JMM, all at the same time…. I cant name em all, but you get it..between then and now has guys like GGG, Chocolatito, Kovalev, Ward, prime Loma, prime Canelo.

    Boxing is awesome!
