Was it really a "solid" win over Cobb? I remember that fight being a bit contentious, and Norton seeming to be at the end of the line. The scores were real close, too.

That’s not how that works. You are comparing fights decades apart - though certainly, it’s feasible the Taylor stoppage had King’s fingerprints on it.

Patterson absolutely hit harder than Heavyweight Spinks.

It also needs to be said Holmes couldn’t hit someone as hard as Johansson if he fired a gun at them.

Yes but he didn't, he got rid of Spinks in 91 seconds.

    That is another matter entirely.

Surely, it's no different a matter than Holmes' apparent lack of proficiency with firearms.

In a pound for pound sense, Ingo isn't worthy to clean Michael's spit bucket.

However when you compare them at heavyweight, Ingo's body of work looks better, and he also looks more formidable in a head to head sense.

What we must ultimately evaluate Spinks on as a heavyweight, is his two fights with Holmes.

There is not much else of any note.

The only reason he didn't was because Ingo had been retired for about 25 years at that point.

That probably helped, but you don't transfer one greats failures onto another.

They remain a new problem that has to be tackled.

Yeah but using Spinks loss to Tyson as a reason why he'd likely lose to Ingo is way out in left field. It's implying that Ingo would have done better against that version of Tyson. Just because Spinks lost to prime Mike Tyson doesn't mean that Ingo could hope to pull the same thing against Spinks.

    Not necessarily.

It might lead you to think, that Ingo might be able to break him down eventually.
    Not really.

If Ingo fights that version of Tyson, his fate is not predetermined.

He can use his considerable power to get stuck into Tyson, or he can play a bit of a cute game, or he can come up with something totally out of the box.

The bottom line is that a 91 second knockout at this level, is virtually unknown, with this perhaps being the sole example, in the entirety of boxing history.

That's a nice fairy tale, but I'd be very comfortable betting on a 1st round KO if we're talking about Tyson vs Johannson prime for prime. Even if he lands flush on Tyson, Tysons chin was too good for it to have an effect.
