Haye was a good fighter, and the win looks better over time as Chisora has really redeemed is career late. But it is what it is.

    Fury stopped/retired him twice.

This was back when nobody thought Chisora was a power puncher and he probably wasn't on the PEDs he got later. So Haye had the big power and speed advantage. Because Chisora hurt some people later on it looks to people now like Haye might have been in trouble but at the time who was Chisora dropping/stopping? And the weight advantage was just fat. Haye and Chisora are about the same size.

Haye stopped him very easily too. But Haye was also on some serious gear in his career I think.

Boxrec doesn't tell the whole story. You can feel free to admit that this was Davids biggest win or you can mention a bigger one.

It's very underrated, especially in light of the legendary/durable journeymen that Chisora has become. The only man to really blow him out of the water and almost no one brings it up.

I would say Haye's two best wins are vs Jean Marc Mormeck who was the number 1 Cruiserweight and WBA, WBC, Lineal champion. And vs Nikolai Valuev who was WBA Heavyweight champion and considering the size difference it's a solid win.

All in all Haye's top 5 wins are....

    Valuev
    Mormeck
    Maccarinelli
    Chisora
Ruiz ? Because Haye was the only man to stop him outside of Tua.

The same people who will say it is an underrated win are probably the same people saying Fury has a crap record.

Valuev had just lost to a 46 year old Holyfield and got a gift on the cards. Mormeck was nothing special whatsoever. It really is a paper thin record.

It's underrated due to weight disadvantage 37 pounds and the fact no one has came close to stopping Chisora early like Haye did. Chisora is still not a great name but he's durable and can give notable Heavyweights a tough night it's the context of Haye's win that makes it underrated.

I don't see what that has to do with Fury fighting Chisora 3 times though, i don't think fans have any real issue with Fury fighting Chisora the first two times they fought. But the 3rd time was a joke Fury was a world champion at this stage and Chisora was 1-3 in his last 4 fights and not rated in the top 10 plus Fury had already beaten him twice decisively. Then Fury followed that up by fighting an MMA fighter hence fans were not happy obviously especially since the Usyk fight should've already happened by that time.

As for Fury's overall resume no it's not "crap" but it's certainly not anything amazing either.

Nah. Chisora is an exciting fighter who’s paid his dudes and had a good career - but very overrated by fans who often think heavyweights are generally better now than in the Klitschko era…

…and he’s among many of these guys best wins, similar to Povetkin - another Klitschko era fighter a decade past his prime.

Overall, I’d consider Chisora an overachiever.

Haye was the favorite and rightfully so, although the manner in which he won exceeded expectations and probably does deserve more credit.

Who cares if he was outweighed by thirty-seven pounds of mostly fat and water?

Well considering all these bigger men couldn't KO Chisora except for Whyte in their rematch who was behind on points I would say it is significant considering Haye was the only one at a considerable weight disadvantage.
