Dejavu... I remember before the AJ v Ngannou fight there were many in here saying Ngannou would give AJ a tough time and a few saying he'd stop AJ. I think my words were if Ngannou comes for a fight AJ will go through him like a dodgy kebab after 10 pints. Ngannou has basic fundamentals and Wilder isn't very good but he's vastly more experienced than Ngannou. I Said it earlier in this thread Wilder will stop Ngannou and I'd say inside 4 rounds if I was putting a bet on. I've been a big critic of Wilder and I've said for a long time that while he can bang his power is also overated and made the point who has he knocked out that anybody else in the top 10/12 couldn't knock out but if this fight happens Ngannou is having a canvas nap again.
Wilder's chin wasn't ever great but I think his punch resistance had a steep decline after the two Fury fights.
Really depends on how well Ngannou has recovered mentally and physically from that AJ loss. It was the kind of loss where a fighter is never the same after. Honestly I think his MMA fight next month is a big risk for him too if he really has been softened up by AJ which is very possible.
This. Ngannou operates at an mma range which it perfect for wilder to land the big right hand. Chisora Wilder a more interesting fight
It's an intriguing fight between two crude fighters, but it should be made clear to these guys that they're now existing in the 2nd tier of boxing with the Chisoras, Whytes, Wallins and Joyces of the world, and that victory doesn't suddenly mean either of them is back in contention for a title shot or something silly like that. That said, Wilder looks utterly terrified in the ring these days, like an American Audley Harrison, and I think Ngannou might be able to batter him.
Your comment implies Ngannou and Wilder have dropped down a level. Let's have it right Ngannou has never been a top tier boxer and does not now exist in the same tier as Chisora, Whyte, Wallin and Joyce and what's more he never has. He also has never been a true title contender to be able to get "back in contention". I said before the AJ fight Ngannou was going to get smashed and I had hoped it would put an end to the silly crossover fights once and for all.
Wilder never was at the top tier of boxing Hid out in americwar And that right there is the legacy floyd left
All pretty fair comment. The only thing I'd add is that Wilder was never in a tier above the likes of Whyte, Joyce and Chisora either - he was just protected and hyped hard and lots of casuals fell for it.
Peak Wilder would have likely done serious damage to those fighters with maybe Chisora as an exception.
